No mod support for consoles?

Civ 6 did not have any mod support for consoles, did the devs say anything about mod support for console versions of civ 7?

Mac and Epic Store versions of Civ 6 did not have official mod support, the mods had to be installed manually, if I'm not mistaken. Even then a lot of mods did not work properly.

Will Civ 7 have REAL mod support for Epic and Mac too?

If not, do the non Steam players have to wait for DLCs that may or may not solve the issues in the game?

I can only say that FXS mentioned the console support and the mod support separately. I hope all users can access to mods, but nothing is clear for now. More safe option is considering it would be like what happened in Civ 6.

Steam is very easy to integrate its mod workshop into/for a game. Unless those stores(including consoles) have something similar, mod support will be delayed or never happen imo.

they could use mod.io for the modding framework instead of Steam, but from the interview where they mentioned it wasn't easy to do something about mods for consoles (I don't remember the exact words used then, need to rewatch that), I suppose they are still using Steam.

The console manufacturers are generally hesitant about allowing code modification on their machines. Look at Cities Skylines 2 and how despite pulling all modding onto Paradox's own platform to ensure that the eventual console users will have access to mods, they still won't have access to those that modify the game's code in any way; even though they still have asset mods available - valuable for a city builder, but plenty of near-necessary mods existed for the previous CS game and already exist for the new one. So maybe there would be an outside chance of console modded civs, but I think it would be very unlikely.
