No text - at all

I just updated to 1.61 from 1.52 and no text is displayed on the menu anymore. I haven't tried in the game its self but I'd assume its the same because even the pop-ups that occur in the menu screen are blank with just a box and and button (which has no text either). I did not have any of these problems in 1.52 and I am baffled as to what caused this. I uninstalled blue marble so thats not the problem.

Also, clear your civ4 cache.

I completely uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, and made sure the cache was cleared when I reloaded it and I still get no text. (you clear the cache by holding shift right?)

Maybe also delete the contents of this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\cache
