(NOT A BUG) Units can't gain exp beyond 10 pts

I have several units that have been in combat since reaching 10 pts but they have not received any added pts for the battles. Two in particular are located in the SW corner of the map; a war chariot and a swordman. What's going on???

since the combat log in this save only shows fights against barbs it is highly likely

@Ankhman: If you fight against barbarian animals you can not get more than 5XP
If you fight against other Barbarian units you can not get more than 10XP
There is no limit if you fight against other civilizations
