Notification Banners Covering the Screen

In the game I'm currently playing, I'm playing on a huge map w/ max civs. As I've met civs, I've sent delegations. So, now that I've met everyone, I have delegations with just about everyone. That means, in between turns, I get a lot of those notification banners popping up.

The problem is that when the notification banners scroll through, they cover a large portion of the visible screen; right down the middle. It makes it pretty difficult to follow what's going on so long as those banners are up.

I would prefer the notifications stay down the right side so that I can read them at my leisure and so I can follow what's happening in the world.

Those notifications are designed to be quickly disappearing flashes - you could read them as they are shown or view them in gossips later. So for most game setups (not all civs) it's ok. Showing them minimized as main notifications would hurt usability for common game setup.

This whole notification thing on Civ VI is still a mess. small, grey icons that sometimes doesn't work, big sepia blocks that notify us about trivial things like Ghandi had built marketplace in Delhi or Ghandi is trading with Japan (Japan being you. Yes, I know, intrepid reporter, I know Ghandi traded with Japan, me being Japan)

I think it would be great if we can filter the information we want. Such as, "give me updates on diplomacy" or "tell me what other civs are building", depending on the direction you are taking your game. If I'm not trying to compete for wonders, it probably matters little to me what the other civs are building. Right now, they can be distracting in the beginning of the turn because there are too many of them.

The thing I find kind of annoying about is it makes it hard to find the really important info, in particular, a rival starting a Wonder.

Which, by the way, I am so excited to have in game. Being able to see when someone starts a Wonder puts the "race" in the Wonder race. I love it. Just wish I could see it easier.

Apologies in advance, but I'm not sure what that means exactly.
They are designed to be readable without clicking on them, so they are shown in full text. That way if you have huge number of notifications (due to huge number of civs), this looks bad, but with default number of civs I found those notifications to be very good.

This exactly. So many of the notifications are so asinine and pointless. And a lot of them don't deserve notifications, but should just be in the gossip screen.

huge number of civs

It's not like I installed a mod adding to the max number of civs to the game. I'm just playing a huge map with the 20 or civs allowable.

Perhaps there does not need to be a big banner around the notification's text? Text only would suffice; or a smaller banner around the text; or a somewhat transparent banner......

It baffles me that they still have not setup a notifications log. In V, they where so small you usually missed most of them, now they are so large they can get annoying. Having a simple scrolling log window would solve that but the UI team just dropped that ball. Having tabs or filters for different types would make it even better but I would be so happy just to have a log.

You hear a sound when a barbarian camp spawns but it doesn't scroll the screen or in any way tell you where so you spend five minutes scanning the fog trying to find it. So annoying.

Yeah, I seem to recall in C5 that there would be a flashing blip on the world map showing you where the action was. It would be nice to give us that again. Or, while the 'next turn' globe is spinning in the lower right corner, it would be nice to be able to click on it and then be centered on the current action.
