Earthling should not have the amulet, nor another day in this council.
The Learned Councilor came to me a few days ago under the guise of friendship, offering to help heal my wounds. I saw no reason not to accept, and my wounds were healed, though renewed again. This day he came to me under the guise of threat, telling me that my recurring wounds were suspicious, and that he would "gather suspicion on me" if I didn't immediately tell him. As the nature of my wounds is nothing sensitive, and as several of you are already aware of it, I saw no reason not to tell him.
I asked him to share some information in return, for good faith, and for possibly building some trust. This is where things started going downhill. He tells me first how he belongs to no faction at all. When I point out the stupidity of such a statement in the face of reality [OOC: the OP states everyone belongs to a faction], he changes this to being a one-man faction. He is looking for an artifact of Oghma (cf "learned"), and of course no threat to anyone. Naturally. Then suddenly he is working for Esus, to "protect the council". Right. And doesn't know who the others in his faction are, if they even exist. Right.
Now, normally I wouldn't be so dismayed in the face of outright lies, even though I cringe at the ineptitude. The really fun part is that when I called BS and refused to share my own faction in return, our "learned" councilor starts threatening me. He would tell everyone what he learned about me and my wounds, and there would be people out there who were after me for it, so I better tell him even more about myself. Right.
Now, normally I wouldn't take so badly to threats either, I can certainly be a bully when I feel like it. But there's one more interesting tidbit. He claimed that he could heal me, and my wounds were indeed healed at one point after he offered. But then Winston Hughes died, and turned out to be a Fellowship Healer, and a Ljosalfar Recon Agent to boot. Now, what are the chances that there are actually two healers in the Undercouncil? I would find a single one suspicious to start with in this crowd, and question their motives. But two? Far more likely then that Earthling was acting a liaison for his faction friend Winston Hughes, much like Sprig claimed the ability of Stuck in Pi.
I accuse Earthling of being a Ljosalfar agent. And I would find a Ljosalfar in our midst far more serious a threat than two disgruntled merchants, who we already know who they are and what they can do.
