I've seen one too many of people, finding themselves very disappointed and unhappy from some of the additions in BtS.

This thread is all about looking forward to all, improving the mood out here on the 'net, as I kinda feel we've all started backstabbing Firaxis.

Holy Roman Empire - It's a great addition, maybe not as good as some other civs, but the HRE was historically important and will be very entertaining to play as.

Ballista Elephant - WTH? A little funny IMO but will still a very interesting addition. And the special UU ability is very very unique and very creative.

Boudica - Yes, she was included before many other leaders and was not very succesful in her revolt, but she has still been in Civ II, and I think she's good to have back.

Now, praise the almighty Firaxis and tell why you all think the additions aren't that bad!!

A month left before I can play the game! Because no doubt it will appear later here in Europe than in America. Oh, the longing, the deprivation!

I think it will be fun to play as the HRE, the Khmer and Ethiopia, and the Corporations and the new espionage system sound extremely interesting. And Pericles is in at last, Creative/Philosophical - YAY! And if I feel in a lustful mood I can always call up the slut Boudicca and talk to her for a while.

I agree, alot of people start complaining about things before they even had a chance to see how they work for real. Ah the suspense can't wait for BtS to come out here in Europe.

I forgot the colonies. I think they sound like an excellent new idea too. I generally avoid founding cities overseas because of the maintenance costs, but now there is a way out of that trap without opting for State property.

I haven't seen many disappointed faces apart from some that doesn't approve of the new Civilizations offered. I too can question HRE, but it's a very minor nuisance. The new features greatly outweighs that and then some. I'm really looking forward to this and it will present a new boost to my interest in the game! =)

so many new awesome features... spies, conolies, corporations, random events, addition of the HRE, addition of Boadicea, trade routes, modern warfare, a SE Asian civ at last, a ton of awesome wonders, a ton of decen tcivs... what more can i ask for... oh, yes, i can ask for Vietnam.

Personally, I think that the greatest things in the expansions are
the Advanced Start option,
as it lets me customize the feeling of a realistic Medieval game,
the Colonization system,
which increases dynamic effects in the game and allows the player to create real history as well as improving the lifespan of an enourmous economical empire,
and the Random Events,
which is a thing I have really missed.

Good thread. It's the best game out there, and there were many jaw dropping moments when the features started to be announced. It's just so big.

I am also excited about the Apostolic Palace, about "Fall from Heaven" (and I usually dislike scenarios), the privateers, the Corporations, the fact that the units now have an ethnic look... Actually, this promises to be a wonderful XP, and I do think people should stop complaining about it before it has even landed on the shelves.
