It is true that these formats aren't used for broadcasting anymore in the US. But that's not the point. The point is that cable and satellite TVs use NTSC televisions as a base.

People forgot to mention VHS and DVD. I bought a rare-ish (at least obscure) VHS which I had to pay to convert to a DVD due to it being PAL.

I know. I was going to mention that. Do TVs even work in sub-zero temperatures?
