Nuke Nes: After Victoria

I was actually thinking along the lines of that.

I waltz in daintily and claim Imperial China.

You cower in fear and pay homage to my might.

I tango in ungracefully and stake a claim for the Republic of China.

Imperial China may cower in excitement and pay homage to me.

General Honjo stood on the bridge of the flagship next to Admiral Nomura. Both men were staring in the direction of Nagasaki. Admiral Nomura looked worried and spoke in anxious tone. Are you sure your men will succeed? We should have heard their signal by now. I hope they have not decided to defect. General Honjo said, those are some of my best and most trustworthy men. If they have defected, then all is lost. Suddenly the radio crackled. The Crain is nested. The Crain is nested. General Honjo smiled a tight smile. My men have seized the port facilities. It is safe to unload our transports.

Latter that day on docks at Nagasaki. In the background is a lot of hustle and bustle as ships are unloaded and troops move out to take their positions through Nagasaki. General Honjo is glaring at Colonel Taro. What took you so long that you delayed our arrival by three hours. Colonel Taro explained. Sir, we landed at north of the city without incident as planned. But as we moved into the center of the city we encountered some Communist forces with two tanks. Apparently the Communist have been making a strong effort at conquering Kyushu from the resident warlords. As you know the Fascist have been driving the Communist out of central Honshu. The Communist are strengthening their positions in Hokkaido, Southern Honshu and Shikoku. General Honjo roared, enough with the intelligence briefing! Why were you late?! Colonel Taro continued explaining. We had no heavy weapons for fighting the tanks. We had to plan a trap. We lured them onto a bridge and blew the bridge. The tanks crashed down to the railroad tracks below. Then we advanced quickly to the harbor and captured it building by building. All this took time. General Honjo fumed, that was smart thinking for getting rid of the tanks. Luckily, we have are own tanks and artillery to deal with anymore tanks. But next time I tell you to be somewhere at a specific time. I expect you to be there! Colonel Taro stiffened and shouted yes sir! General Honjo said Good! Gather your men, I have a new mission

Over the next month General Honjo’s troops conquered Kyushu from the various forces holding the islands. The warlords were easy prey for Honjo’s disciplined troops. They were nothing more then street thugs with guns. Those who resisted were wiped out to a man. The remainder disappeared or fled. Most were latter turned into Honjo forces where they were tried in a military court and usually executed or sentenced to hard labor clearing rubble from the streets. The Communist soldiers were a little tougher because many were ex-soldiers. However, they were homeland soldiers who had never fought a war. General Honjo’s men were elite veterans who had been fighting wars for years. Their patience and discipline during battles was unnerving to the Communist forces. It wasn’t long before long before Communist began tearing off their red armbands and begin asking to join General Honjo’s troops. Because every man was needed, they were grudgingly accepted, but they were dispersed through out General Honjo’s forces to prevent them from collaborating.

General Honjo’s troops conquered Kyushu but they acted as liberators. They shared their rations with the local population. They also assisted with rebuilding communities. The island was under martial law, but the Honjo allowed the Communities to create local civilian police forces. He even allowed them to appoint local judges to handle petty crimes. Major crimes were still tried in Military Courts. Of course any fools trying to restart the civil war in Kyushu were immediately destroyed by Honjo’s forces. It didn’t take long for these attacks to cease.

The people of Kyushu were happy with Honjo’s occupation. They once again felt the peace and security they had known before the invasion of Japan

Whoa! The British Crown still owns Belgium and will not approve any of the above terms unless we are in the talks as well.

Look at my mother's title:

Queen of England and Ireland, Empress of India, Queen of Spain and Belgium, Ruler of the Commonwealth.

Though Spain is lost, Belgium is still ours.

England still has claims to Belgium and the British will not be usurped by such a lowly nation like yourself.

Ah how the times have changed Germanicus. :P

Welcome Silvara :)

OOC: Then we will change our name to the Highlands.

IC:
Following the embarrassing diplomatic showing in the UCSA Restoration Conference, Queen Wilhelmina forced the Lowlands to hold a parliament election with her vote of “no confidence” in the current government.

1924 Parliament Elections for Kingdom of Lowlands (100 seats) – (3 political parties)

Lowland’s Communist Party (Communist)
- LCP [Radical Left]
-Led by Ferdinand Domela Nieuwenhuis. Denounces Lowland’s recent aggressions into Arabia, Korea and the Philippines. Favors withdrawing from the Noble Alliance and supports the Treaty of Washington. Also favors the Lowlands going into an isolationlist foreign policy. (22 seats)

Social Democratic League (Conservative) - SDL [Moderate Conserative]
-Led by Pieter Jelles Troelstra. The current ruling party took a huge shift left from their liberal ideals and embraced imperialism to compete with the other European powers. They support the Treaty of Washington and the Lowlands current spot in the Noble Alliance. Favors a foreign policy closer to Britain. (12 seats)

Conservative Union (Progressive) - CU [Ultra Conservative]
-Led by Charles Beerenbrouck. The moderate party is furious that the liberals have become more conservative than them. Thus, they united with the conservative and formed the Conservative Union party. This party rejects the Treaty of Washington as invalid and demands that the Lowlands continue to hold Korea and Luzon. Also, they wish to form a foreign policy favoring closer relations with the Russians and UCSA. They also insist on using the Lowland’s new great-power status to making the Lowlands even stronger. (66 seats)

-----------------------------------

The CU, with control of the parliament, immediately denounced the Treaty of Washington as invalid and passed a law declaring it void. But, Queen Wilhemina, herself friendly with the British, moved in and vetoed the bill.

Now, there is a stand-off between the CU and Queen Wilhemina. Several in the CU whisper of stripping Wilhemina of her title and powers. But for the time being, it appears the Lowland stamp of approval on the Treaty of Washington is secure for the time being.

OOC: The * means he or she has final powers. The Queen has the *

I cant help an old post that dates back several weeks ago. That is old news. I dont even know why you brought it up.

The Reign in Spain

Front Page of a newspaper in Madrid

following the death of President Reynoso to a cowardly assassin last year every citizen of The Kingdom of Spain held their breath waiting to see the next move, Luckily Empress Anastasia claimed absolute power over the government and has been leading Spain for the last year.

Normally people would shudder when hearing the phrase "absolute power" but since the Empress has stepped into the seat of power the situation for the citizens has improved greatly, the military has provided jobs for those without just 6 months before. The Philippines have been regained by The Kingdom of Spain after being lost during the civil war with the Communists and a large majority of the Spanish population (70%) are infatuated with the Empress.

In celebration of Anastasia's birthday, several high ranking government officials have presented the Empress with a brand new national flag, a bit of a change from the former Nationalist flag and better suited to a peaceful Spain.

General Honjo walked through the streets of Tokyo. He looked around in disgust at the destruction that was everywhere. There wasn’t a building that wasn’t at least partially destroyed. Everywhere he walked, people came out to simile and bow at his group. He returned each and every bow. He had become quite the celebrity in Japan. He thought back over the events of the last three months. After he had secured Kyushu he had planned to invade the southern portion of Honshu. But then came word of a colonel in the vicinity of Kochi who was battling the local Communist forces. The Colonel sent word that he wanted to join up with General Honjo’s forces. Therefore General Honjo decided to conquer Shikou next. This gave General Honjo a strategic advantage of attacking Honshu from multiple points. With the sea lanes patrolled by Admiral Nomura, General Honjo landed at Yamaguchi, Okayama, and Kobe. Then the battled the Communist, Fascists, Warlords and sometime combinations of all three groups. As his troops advanced more and more people joined the liberation forces. In some areas, the locals drove out the warlords before Honjo’s forces arrived. Honjo was currently in control of all of Japan south of line running roughly from Mito on the east to Itoigawa on the west. Honjo controlled the most important areas of Japan. But he new he needed the rest of Japan in order to proceed with his plans. He knew the forces to north were disorganized but they would still put of a fight. This war was far from over.

At the end of his walk Honjo boarded a small boat and sailed out to Admiral Nomura’s flagship. Honjo and Nomura greeted each other politely. Honjo asked. Do you have all of the rebel naval under our control? Yes, Colonel Taro has been very effective in his mission of boarding and seizing ships that did not surrender to my fleet. Honjo said “I hate to do this but according to the Treaty of Washington we must sell most of our navy. I have already sent word to the World that we have many navy vessels to sell. This also means we must sell your flagship.” Admiral Nomura looked down at the floor. Yes I knew this day would come. As much as it pains me, it is the right and honorable thing to do. Honjo jumped up. Friend, I cannot do this to you. I would rather have sink these ships rather then have you sell them to other nations. Admiral Nomura shook his head sadly. As much as I prefer that option I must think of Japan first. Our economy has been ruined by the invasion and the ensuing civil war. The money from these ships will buy food, rebuild roads and schools. No, we must sell them. I will personally see to their transfer to the foreign powers. Honjo said “You are truly and honorable man. I will not forget this or all the help you provided me. Someday, some way, I will repay your friendship.
