The radio cackles. An ordinary man, William, in his mansion in Amsterdam, decides to listen in on the world's news:
"This is Bellatrix Potter, live from the Lowlands. The Conservative Union, a progressive party of the Lowlands who owns the majority of their parliamentary seats, has just passed a critical bill in this juncture of Lowland history that reduces Queen Wilhelmina's powers to that of a figurehead.
The bill, known as the Royal Monarchy act of 1924, seeks to limit the "damages" down by Wilhelmina during her short reign as queen.
The conservatives argue that Wilhelmina has not merited a role as the leader of one of the strongest powers in Europe. They say that inconsistencies in the Lowland's foreign policy as well as several mishaps and poorly planned invasions have damaged the Lowland image at home and abroad.
However, her supporters from the middle have argued that she turned a small nation (the Netherlands) into a major world-class power, arguable the third strongest nation on the planet, with the largest and strongest naval fleet.
Nonetheless, it appears that Wilhelmina will appeal to the Royal Courts in putting down this "illegal" bill and asks support from the other monarchs in Europe to back her case."
William, after feeling a cold chill from his open window, decided to go back on living his daily normal life as this "breaking news" had no effect on him whatsoever.
