NukeNES02 Changing of the Guard

See those Black dots around the map?

Um......No

In 1723, King William III of the Netherlands, King Otto of Prussia, and Queen Maria of France signed an alliance. Fearing for the worst, King George II signed an alliance with the New Italian Republic, and King Alexander of Austria Hungry. While it only lasted for two years, it brought in 7 nations for Britain: Sweden, Poland, Greece, Israel, Saudia Arabia, The German Confederacy, and Portugal. It brought 3 nations for France: Ottoman Empire, Russia, and Spain,. In the end, the French Coalition defeated the British Axis. Peace was harsh and generous. Portugal was given land in exchange for pledging $1,000,000 Franks to France, and joining the French Coalition. Spain got Belize City and Gibraltar (Which Britain got back 2 months later), Austria got to keep her empire, Russia annexed Sweden, and Germany was united. However, Sweden, Poland, Greece, Israel, Saudia Arabia lost their Independence at the end of the war, and Italy lost half her land.

So Spain was on the winning side, Britain was on the losing side, and Britain got Philippines from Spain?

Arabia was more of a Confederacy, Isreal was a rebellion.

How did Arabia become a Confederacy? How did they decide to defy their caliph?
Why did Jews (the only minority of Ottoman Empire that never revolted) rebel?

The issue is, you need to let the players know about every detail of the history you decided to change. Otherwise Ottoman player would by default think "my happy Jews", while you may be thinking Jews are about to revolt.

It needs coherence and completeness. Look at every bit of your map and story, and think what went different. It does not need to be nominated for Nobel Literature Prize (but apparently many people mind spelling errors, so some more care. You could first write in MSWord, then spellcheck, and then copy-paste). For example you could say "In Jerusalem some Janissaries killed two Jews in an argument, things got out of proportion, became a full-scale Jewish rebellion". Just one sentence can be enough to justify a deviation of history.

PS: I have never modded, have been in only one NES, and might not know what I am talking about at all :)

Um......No

So Spain was on the winning side, Britain was on the losing side, and Britain got Philippines from Spain?

The British colonised the Philipenes.

Oh, I also changed the rules since the dots looked like coffe stains.

knigh+ is right. I like things to be complete and stuff ~desu. I dare say, flesh it out more! I'd like reasons for everything, etc.

I know, I've never modded, but still, that's what I dare say is the clincher of an althistory NES (don't shoot me because I've never been in one before D: But still, yeah, knigh+'s got the gist of it.)

Unrelated: I keep typing out knight+ and then correcting myself. Darn your weird name D:

I will write an east asian history

People here are bit edgy about althistory, they want explanations and at least some degree of realism. Bastards arent they?

Were whores for good story

Darkening, will you join as Hawii, or at least a rebellion?

Oh, BTW, What would you rather have; a writen thing like I've been doing, or a time line?

I'll join as soon as I stop crying when ever I look at the map.

Take a map from a nes that's form sort of the same time, and then make the necessary changes. Keep to thick borders (if you're using paint, just change the thickness of the line). Remember- if you don't put any work into it, I doubt anybody else would be willing to.

Otheriwse, make the necessary changes and I'll take Hawai'i. (yes, I'm a freak.)

What are you crying about now?

yea.......

Licepicking (no, not nitpicking, nits are small)

STEP ONE: make sure the scenario is PLAUSIBLE. (anything is possible, an alt-hist nead plausablility.)

STEP TWO: Research (also step zero).

STEP THREE: Write in a way that makes sense.

STEP FOUR: Check that you have no modernisms (ie Saudi Arabia - simply Arabia, and Israel would be either Judea, Canaan, Zion or Palestine. The name Israel was chosen in 1948)

STEP FIVE: (One of the top five most important steps) Spell Check!. Can not be emphasized enough.

Are going to join j eps?
