What Video Games Have You Been Playing? Five-and-Twenty: I Used to Play, But then I Took an Arrow to the Knee

FS2024.

Piper PA-60 Aerostar over Bahamas at dawn.

BTW, I was almost swallowed up by a sudden, small, but extremely intense stormy cloud over the Tongue of the Ocean near Andros Island ( flight simulator captures real-time weather and it is fairly accurate).

And then they say nothing happens in the Bermuda Triangle... :scared:

My stepfather is a big Fligh Simulator gamer. He has crafted a dozen or more of cockpit instruments, pedal controls and gauges out of 3D printing and counter available electronics bought online!

That is pretty cool. I considered to build some sort of cockpit at some point like 10 years ago but finally I stayed with a CH Fighterstick and a CH pro throttle, which are old and simple but good almost industrial quality, plus Logitech pedals, until now.

Well his pedal control and joystick are based on some available brand but I think he tweaks them further...actually he has no joystick, he has a rudder control like from a WW2 bomber but I can't recall if he built it out of scratch or he just kept adding and modifying stuff from a base model he got.

Maybe this one?

I have one of those, but it is too clumsy since i have not a dedicated table/frame but i use my usual table for everything, so i use the usual joysticks which i can leave at a corner of the table at any time
and rarely dig up the yoke, i can use the joystick for combat aircrfat too in DCS or BMS, but yokes are only for civil aviation (more specifically Boeings and several general aviation aircraft since Airbus use joystick too).

Yes an yoke! Not sure if it's that one, but something like that. He has all those parts anchored on a big table under the PC screen. Over the yoke he crafted a row of gauges mimicking the one the games has per default but that you can modify the game to put information into the peripherals you add.
It's quite the rig he has built himself for this game!

^I never got in one of that. :( Same for the Outrun Machine. They were to pricy. 100 pesetas the game instead of 25 pesetas in the normal arcade machine.

About cockpits for flightsims, proper simmers can spend big amounts of money and time to build one:

or even...

I think for the amount of money on that picture one might consider joining the local flight club and learn to fly a small aeroplane!

Continuing from my other thread, my alternate WWII in Darkest Hour is running well. Having 1950’s tech, the jet bombers and electric U-boats sank the Royal Navy. Paratroopers with assault rifles jetted in to Hull, followed by the mechanized infantry. The British Empire has broken apart, Churchill resigned to Canada.

It’s March 1941, Italy is marching through Central Africa and I’m getting ready to take on the Russians. Take that, history!

This is the game? https://store.steampowered.com/app/73170/Darkest_Hour_A_Hearts_of_Iron_Game/

If so, it is better than HOI4?

Olden Era demo is out. For Free!!!!

It is homm3 with upgrades. Ubisoft approved next installment in series.

Operation Barbarossa (June 15-October 8) was a success. Moscow fell in early August, Leningrad and Stalingrad shortly thereafter. The last holdout was Sevastopol where it is believed that Stalin having escaped Moscow either died during the siege or was poisoned by Beria, who signed the surrender of the A-A line and dissolution of the Soviet Union, disappearing—presumed alive—shortly thereafter.

Thanks to German research into industrial techniques and expansive public works programs, our industrial output surpasses that of the USA. The Reich is prepared to take on them if they should foolishly decide to try and cross the Atlantic.

In other news, the USA did move to a full war economy after a breakaway Marxist junta in Jamaica declared war on them. (When partisans take control of some territories for long enough, they’ll start a new country, and this one decided to be really stupid.)

Terminator 2D: No Fate, a 2D action side-scroller developed by Bitmap Bureau. Players will assume the role of Sarah Connor and the T-800 on missions to put an end to Skynet's plans to save humanity. The game blends iconic scenes from Terminator 2: Judgement Day alongside original scenarios and multiple endings.

Yes, looks pretty good.

Played through a campaign with Necromancers on Hard, ran over everone just autoresolving.
Now attempting on max difficulty.

Yea, I'm doing 150% and 200% soon after.

I would say that on demo 200% classical (with several heroes) is the hardest one, but it's still easier than a decent human or homm3 AI on hardest.

What strats/hero do you use? Favorite map? @Yeekim
