Well this was one hard variant we got ourselves into, so it was a very satisfying win. I never thought it was beyond us but at various times victory seemed a long way away.
Thanks to you all for joining in, a finer crew there never was . Any ideas for another game?
Maybe something more geared to a builder type game??, especially getting rid of the 5 building per ciy rule . As its winter (well northern hemisphere anyway) we could try a difficult arcitc type map eg cold higlands.
Are you using the BUG Mod Conroe as I am and perhaps that is causing the crash?? Only asking really as I am sure Ruff Hi would like to know if it is an issue!!
No, I don't use any mods. Unless the BUG mod corrupts the save. I also notice that our replay file ends at 1700AD. Is that the BUG mod, as well? It seems that it was aptly named.
Made possible by that navy that you left me to play with. Actually, Ralph, I need you to play a few turns for me in MLG5. I have no doubt that you could get me a Workboat out of my landlocked city.
I'd like to second this. You folks have been a really great crew to play with! A lot of what makes these games fun are the people that you get to play with. And these games have certainly been enjoyable.
And I agree with MD ... if we do this again, that 5 building rule has got to go. That made for a really tough variant. And that arctic map does sound interesting ...

The BUG mod corrupts the log file and replay file if you don't use BUG (I think).
I have an idea for a Xmas game. Happy Xmas (War Is Over). Monarch, Agressive AI. The idea was that at the end of every turn, you have to try and stop any war that is running (involving yourself or even an AI war) by whatever means necessary. They want your capital for peace, bad luck! To make it spicy I thought about giving each AI a religion from the first turn, meaning they will be at it all game between themselves, giving our peacekeeping nature something to do.
