I like boobs too, but I genuinely prefer the Civ V model... not cuz of boobs, but cuz it makes her look like a genuine leader, a powerful queen of a great nation... rather than a joke, a caricature, or a tool to get sex appeal into a game.

Civ III - Definitely looks like they might have mistaken Catherines cook or seamstress for Catherine.

Civ 4 - I don't know what they were thinking here, doesn't give me a sense of Catherine at all, however the general style fit in with the rest of the leaders in my opiion

Civ Rev - Yah, as somebody else has said, could be a character from a Laura Croft game and to me looks more like a bar wench than the leader of a nation.

Civ 5 - Best Catherine so far. Plus I love the fried look on her face when she's mad at me and due to the horrid AI in Civ 5, is quite often the case.

But, alas, Firaxis want the leaders to be "sexy".

I love that statue...I wish they'd use that image exactly. She doesn't look particularly sexy in Civ5: the giant ball gown dress just makes her look like cinderella than the ruler of a nation. She looks like the captain of the navy in CivIV: it'd be nice to see her has the ruler of a country for once! And yes, she does look like someone from Tomb Raider in Civ Rev: way over the top with the "sexy" look.

It needs to be known that she was born old.

She was in her thirties when she began her rule. The Civ 5 depiction seems like a reasonable 30 year old.

I think the Civ 5 representation also makes her look the most like an Imperial Russian as well. She has the pomp and flair in her outfit to go along with being the leader of Russia, and that sort of dress was not atypical for Russia during the time of her rule...certainly much closer to reality than a naval captain (Civ IV) or a maid's outfit (Civ III)!
