Wow, Lyonesse, those look great! Good job! :goodjob:

Any chance you could do wonders with this logo?:

Mainly the skull with the two guns...everything else can be taken out.

Thanks a bunch! I look forward to your artwork. :)

Did you want me to do more than just resize it? I'll work on it a bit and see if I can come up with some more options, for now here's the "resized version"

Thanks, Lyonesse! I shall use the resized version pending your completion of additional digital manipulations. (of course, I'll be giving you full credit in my sig for your endeavor, too...and I hope you don't mind if I use whatever you come up with on my band's website *fingers crossed*)

No big rush. I greatly appreciate your very kind assistance. :)

I'll get to work on it as soon as I can, probably a little later tonight, gotta feed the kids ya know, they get cranky if you don't feed them LOL

As for graphics on your website, thats not a problem. If you'd like I can make you some of the larger images for that. If you have any larger graphics you'd like for either your avatar or your website, either PM them to me or post them here (I check both often!), also posting the "original" here and then seeing the "end result" also helps people to know what can be done :)

The avatars look better when you "scale down" rather than "scale up". "Scaling up" often makes the graphic look more "pixelized" (if that makes sense, is "Pixelize" even a word? LOL). Large graphics are just easier to "play" with (i.e. adding other graphics or letters) LOL Although the skull with guns I should be able to "adjust" rather well for an avatar :goodjob:

I have Adobe PS 7.0....but since my reinstallation days, I havent reinstalled it, as the cd is at my parents house...forgot to bring it when I moved....

Also - Lyonesse: the program is Irfan view - and the link should be workable - I just clicked it and it worked....

so - probably by the end of the month - I ll be available for help....cant promise much, but I can do a lot of transparency right now - and already have helped a few out on that issue as well ;)

ohhhhh maaaaaaan I would love Photoshop 7! Dang program costs an arm and a leg!

Added you tranparency tutor to the top post! :goodjob:

You are most welcome to help make avatar's! Once you are set up and ready to go make sure you post some "examples" for everyone! ;) I will then link everyone's "examples" to the first post in this thread!

not sure if you'll want any of these, but it's fun to make them anyway ;) (I guess you could probably use one of the ones that aaminion00 didn't use :) ) I'll will "edit" this post adding new images as I go

Thank you, Lyonesse! Those are sweet. :goodjob:

I'll probably alternate between a couple of them, and I'll definitely use the big one (as well as the others) on the site (www.sonicvoodoo.com).

Good work!

p.s. I'll definitely send you a *free* CD when Sonic Voodoo is done with it in the next month or two, as a token of my gratitude.
:thanx:

Lyonesse, quick question (and if this has been answered along the way I apologize) - is it possible to use GIF-format images for the avatar, and if so can moving images be used (micromovies, I've heard them called)?

Yes, GIF-format can be used, in fact you will notice that MOST if not all "transparent" images are in GIF format.

As for "moving images"...I am assuming you mean "animated graphics" (gif, mpeg etc.)? No animated gifs are allowed for avatars. Which is a bummer, but I understand the reasoning behind this, as animated gifs and mpegs usually have quite large file sizes. I use to have an animation program (its around here somewhere), if I can find that program I could probably "extract" one of the images from an animation to use as an avatar. Other than that, sadly animated graphics are a no go :(

Roger, thanks for the info.

Those are some great Avatars there Lyonesse!:goodjob:

Can you make one for me?

I'm thinking maybe a large crystal ball with an eye in it, sitting on
a chair.

Or maybe an eye with a world where the colored part is.

Or anything with a "farseeing" eye.

Thank you.

hmmm well the world doesn't show much after scaling it down :(

still working, but if you find something that will work let me know.

but here are some to start us off :goodjob:

Those are great, I really like the middle one in that row of five. Can you set it on a black background (it's ok if the dark shade of the world gets mixed in with the background)? Also can you change the outer part of the eye so it's not flesh colored. (Maybe green? Use your best judgment) Thank you :worship:

Okay, I'm trying to get a different "lid color" but I'm not finding anything that I like LOL but here's one that I just faded into the earth behind it....still working on the other....

still trying LOL

I think the one on the upper left hand corner is very close to what I visualized. :D Can you make one where the eye is slightly bigger, and with a calligraphy S (transparent but still visible).

Also, would I be able to make that my avatar without having to paste it on Microsoft paint and then loading the image? I think doing that would reduce the quality.
