okay, perhaps i should clarify the style of the text is fine, the problem is that i guess compressing it made it less...disticnt? the bottom of the red letters seems to bhe cut off

hmmmm....couple questions from me...

Did you start with the image at 70x70?
Did you start with the background set as transparent?

The reason I ask is that sometimes when you go from say a blue background to transparent it will "cut off" some of the edges (Raijer probably knows how to prevent that ;) ) Also if you start with an image at say 100x100 you will sometimes "lose" parts for the image.

The ones I did above I started with both 70x70 and a transparent file. Don't know if any of this even pertains to this, but hopefully it will help some ;)

I might just try to do an Scloopy if I get brave enough.

Anyone know how to do transparancy in Paint Shop Pro 8.05 (trial)? I tried what it said in the help file (on Layer palette, click name of layer [background] and change the opacity setting) but every time I try it says it must first convert my image to a single-layer raster. After it converts, there is of course no background to make transparent since it was converted to a single layer. If I can't get it to even do this, there is no way I'll buy the full program when my 60 days run out.

i started 70x70, with the backdround trnasparent, using Times New Roman, and size 60 for the Y, and 19 for the bbor

This is what I come up with

right click on the picture, click "save picture as" and save it to a folder...remember where you put them. Open them in a graphics program (Microsoft paint works). Once open in the graphics program click "file", "save as", and save the image as a gif from the drop down list (you may want to re-name it so it's easier to "see" in your folder's)

Just curious now...any particular reason it needs to be a gif?

edit:
I think its time to give my Radiohead avatar a wee rest.

here's what I had in mind. If someone ain't too busy would it be possible for someone to resize it as well. I tried myself but acidently deleted the boobie when I resized it or something (hehehehe, I said "boobie") and I couldn't get a transparent background, it just kept coming up in white.

Many thanks,

Steviejay

I am not sure if I have attached the upload or not. We shall see when I post it.

edit: took two tries, but I think this is transparent.

okay I took a few "stabs" at this one too! First is the original just scaled down. Then I cropped a bit on the 2nd one...and a bit more on the 3rd...and a bit more...

What did I do wrong that the edges are not smooth?

I like the third one of yours best.
