Thank you. I noticed that seems to be what Lyonesse uses to make things shiney looking (or somthing similar anyway) so I mesed around with it.

while I do use the lens flare sometimes, most the time its other filters. Glass, cut out, chrome, bevel, fire, shadow lab, and gradient glow...all "Eye Candy" filters

Well, with the transparency it took up alot of space so I had to resize it to 58x59 pixels to make it under 4kb.

I didn't notice the black line until after I had done the first set. When "cutting out" the background it became more pronounced

That's some neat looking software Lyonesse. (although pricey) Personally at my skill level I'm a share ware kind of guy.

Fireworks comes with a few Eye Candy filters. I use the bevel a lot.

The problem with animated avatars is that its possible to create some quite distracting avatars and they take up more space.

What did you make that in?

Yes, 80x80 avatars seem pretty good, IMO. I mean, we have them at GCF, and it doesn't look any worse than CFC.
