Babelfish translation:
however, I am not possible many trolls in Dutch then because there are two Dutch mods (and no custard minus gene), it, however, is able help in certain arguments but then yes, since vele poeple nevertheless only English have been possible has seen it to that the complete idea no zooi landlord is.
We already have moderators who can make at least reasonable translations of most European languages (and Japanese). And Bablefish does "tolerably" well for those who don't.
But this is an English-language forum. We have many, many posters here for whom English is a second language. (And many (most?) of them write better English than many of the English-monolinguists) If you want to discuss Civ here, you do so in English. Most posters make allowance for 2nd-language speakers. If you want to discuss non-Civ (i.e.: Off-Topic), then there are plenty of forums around that are available in different languages -- no need to visit a Civ site for that.
(And transparent attempts to get on the Mod Staff here are rather humorous.)
Philippe! How could you think I was directing that at you?
And yes, I remember DoF.![]()

Back to the topic
You see, you're telling me that we can already do that with the current staff.
As Dabur already said, there's lots of "civfanatics" who don't register here because of the language (don't know English enough to post here, they're to too lazy to post in English, they don't want to post because of shame and other reasons) and there're no decent civ sites in other languages (with the exception of civfanatics.ru). Me, for example. I came here looking for a spanish civ site. Moreover, civfanatics.com is an international site, not an english-speaking-areas-centric one.
I said that we should do this in off topic because of two reasons. First of all, I'm just asking for a thread for each language as long as that speaking community is represented enough here, example: Portuguese speaking community is well represented here, ergo portuguese thread is allowed, Catalan speaking community isn't represented here (I'm alone), ergo that thread isn't allowed unless this changes. Only a thread won't disturb anyone.
And second, I think that this must be in off topic because they pretend to be threads where you can talk about everything in that language. You can talk on civ, but also other thing. I think also that they should be in off topic because a polyglot thread doesn't fit anywhere else. That would be different if I was asking for a subforum, but I'm just asking for language-specific threads.
Totally agree.
What's the point? You want a thread where everyone that knows Italian can discuss... what, exactly?
So one thread for all that stuff? One thread would cover everything the Italian speakers could want to talk about?
I think an Italian-language forum would make more sense. Or, post on CFC in English.
http://invisionfree.com/
That's a good idea, but it doesn't look like CFC is the place for it. You could make your own non-English Civ forum at invisionfree and advertise it in your sig, maybe?
You're missing my point. How are we to trust any translation put up there by you, or someone else, or by some software? What about adding the actual translation in the report or, if it's too long, and idea of what is actually meant there?
