Onan's Speed-Optimized GMR Game

Lord? We do not lord, simply state facts as we see them. And when another people takes the technology lead from us, neither will we then be slaves or serfs, but rather will congratulate the new leader's accomplishment.

Where is Tazzik(new name )? Been almost 2 days he's online on the GMR client and still no turn played...this game is much slower since 2 weeks :(

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't been taking turns often in this game. Typically, I would take turns during breaks at work, but more recently, I've had more stuff to do. This results in my computer's memory getting filled up, causing the game to take an eternity to load, and making everything else on my computer go slower for a while after the game has closed. For this reason, I haven't been taking as many turns. I know you want to keep this game going quick, so I'll probably just surrender.

Peace treaties expire soon. War is coming and Russia hopes India and China-Russia have been preparing. Only one great project concerns Catherine.

The Songhai have declared war on the worthless Russians prepare to die! (Okay so I was trying to figure out where my cotton had gone and realized we were trading your marble for cotton???) Doesn't make sense so we ended that. The accountants have been questioned and executed.

Thanks for the update buddy, that's unfortunate you're situation at work isn't as conducive to Civ as it once was. Getting turns in during the work day is my prime time for playing ;)

Hopefully you can at least get a turn in on the evenings to keep the game progressing each day. Otherwise, turning the reigns over to the AI might be the most considerate thing to do. If you do choose to stick it out I suggest you be mindful of your borders. There are some real warmongers in this group!

So much for the great nobility of the humble Songhai

I assume you're referring to the worthless native Russians and not the worthless Chino-Russians? Although invading us would make more sense given our proximity. Either way I hope you're prepared to face the consequences of such reckless behavior! :nono:

Thanks for letting us know what's going on. It's always preferable to have human players stick it out, but it has to work for you, too.

Thanks for all your work on the app. It's great!

I think this is just an 'administrative' war, to cancel an unwanted trade.

You had 2 cotton when I offered the trade? I suppose now you have your own source of marble. This is disappointing. I hope Species Zero stays in the game. I would prefer a slower paced game with humans than having an AI throw things off. Maybe a substitute?

There is a reason for contract. This further proves the mouthful lies of Songhai leader. As the chair of WTO, Ramsy formally denounces the action and urges the Songhai to rectify it, otherwise Egypt will call out wars to enforce trade embargo against the Songhai. And other honorable leaders will follow.

On AI: please do not surrender

We Songhai have decided to throw our lot in with the Aztecs. They at least are honorable enough to declare wars openly and wage them rather than hide behind things like offering 30 gold for information while attaching trades to them of resources that other nations do not want.

Having never been part of the WTO, we further do not care if you call for a trade embargo. Any resources that refuse to be traded will be acquired by more direct means.

We have already made an offer to the Russians and as there is an overabundance of cotton on this map which Ramsy just said two days ago, they can certainly trade their marble for cotton to one of the many other nations with a surplus.

For some reason I thought the trade odd when I saw it since you only have 1 source of marble as well? I terraformed the extra cotton when I realized it was not going to be useful for trading.

I am willing to offer wine for dye when it gets hooked up in approximately 10 turns (busy with some fighting right now so the workers can't get to the right spot).

If Egypt tries only a single second to enforce an embargo for Songhai we will react at your own risk. My units can be closer than you think. Siam and Songhai will ally to Monty and his legendary army and you will be in big trouble. If you dare to bribe Rome into your propaganda then the Aztecs will be very angry and Roman people may be the first victim from your propaganda and you will suffer consequences and bring unpopularity into your country.

''You should think twice before saying such things'' said Monty, the greatest leader of the Great Plains.

When trading, there are options to reject or modify a term before acceptance. Attach some gold or gpt only serves a purpose to make the deal work earlier when other can't hook up resource early to compensate for trading away the last resource for a while. However, after signing a contract, it should only terminate if both leaders agree to or one of them can't perform the contract. The fact that Songhai leader cancels the contract without discussing with the Russian leader breaks the rule of contract. Russian leader should get monetary compensation for that matter. Yet, the Songhai leader does not recognize his wrong doing. The Aztec leader is at least honorable by declaring war and going some actual conquering. What Songhai leader's wrong is incomparable and dishonor. The abandance of cotton is irrelevant, the spirit of contract should be upheld. In fact, Egyptian leader is willing to subsidize the Russian a free cotton, just to prove that Songhai leader's wrong on this matter. And prepare to be declared next turn for the embargo.

(ps: I just realise I have to play the good guy in this particular game, as the story and game play go through:lol:)

We,Siam, ask for our friend Islandia to stop this madness against the weak Russians . They have suffered enough in the past . Maybe you could follow the steps of Monty and attack pity city-states instead .

The risk of declaring embargo is on Egypt only. Not sure if the Siam leader is willing to join the evil axis, but Egyptians are laughing at the funny alliance of the Aztec and Songhai. Both try to sway the righteousness of some common moral and business grounds, which will fail miserably. As for the honorable Roman leader, Egypt will wait for his opinion on this evil alliance.

Edit: again, Siamese leader is wise and honorable to realise the wrong. Even bullying CS, we Egyptians value the opinions of other civ leaders. We ask for their permissions to slave some of their citizens. Again, proves Egyptians are trustworthy and bound by the rules.

An eventful year!

Ask Sydney if Egypt is the good guy! We have heard tales of recent slave raids. This barbaric practice must be abolished.

And the Aztecs, taking Dublin? In just about the centre of the world? Is the Songhai leader saying he supports this outrage?

Caesar invites the 'legendary' Aztec army to venture closer to our lands, so we can reliably measure your strength!

And, congratulations to the Songhai for claiming the lead in the world's technology race!

Edit: The Roman position on the supposed alliance is to wait to see if it is in fact real...at this point it seems to be bluster, and laughable at that. What happened to the Songhai position of rebuffing the Aztec advances if he move onto the great plain? Dublin is right in the middle of the plains....

Come on, slavery has not been abandoned till 1981 (see Wikipedia). It's good for economy, yeah, but morally it's not an excuse. Egyptians will work on towards abandon slavery in a few centuries.

It's not abandonned. It only took another form(economic slavery) and much more vicious.

Ceasar wanna see our army into your land heh? You don't have enough will to take me first as i can see...your land is unimportant. If you ally with Egypt i will take some measures to counter this propaganda. Meanwhile i have other things to do. There is no need to hurry up. I'm pleased that Egypt has calmed down. God bless Monty.

Edit :

Relations update(Monty)
