Onan's Speed-Optimized GMR Game

The Songhais should not be alarmed as this is merely to secure our own border to protect our precious capital from future nuclear strike.

If the rumours are right, that city near Grand mesa could be a launch pod for nukes . I guess you could help me with my "personal war",so you won't be threatened by nukes in the future .

All this nuclear paranoia.... Caesar wishes to inform Pharaoh that the Roman empire plans to expand westward from Rome with a new settlement, sometime in the relatively near future. Will this city too, like our capital, become a target, because it is in 'range'?

Will you trust to diplomacy, or simply trust in a pre-emptive strike?

Diplomacy is always an option. Sign non nuclear pact and use conventional weapons only are one way to mitigate the fact that vanilla does not have Nuclear bomb shelter. Otherwise Pharoah can't sleep well because his palace is in range of nuclear strike. Ceasar will also benefit from the pact because Egyptians may be quicker to discover uranium and change current defensive mindset :)

Counted, if Pharoah is not old enough, that's 13 range, which is a safe city so we have no excuse to interfere. Unless the international community condemns the real Songhai, but none seems to do so right now. We will discuss with Songhai leader about abandoning Nuclear plan, but his forces is currently too large for Egyptians to deal with.

Great! My empire is happy again!

Thank you Onan

Anytime, bud, anytime. :p

You were lucky with the timing of that policy. I was looking forward to some wholesale butchery of unhappy soldiers.

This really was a major oversight in vanilla, since nukes are such a game breaker.

Caesar doesn't know what to say about Egypt's demands. It all just seems too far away to bother with now. Non-nuke pact in medieval times, really? :crazyeye:

It's a gamble when none of us gets to know where uraniums are, it's a fair gamble in medieval.

The Egyptians are basking in the enlightenment of the Renaissance, unlike the other civilizations stuck in the medieval dark ages, so they are seeing far ahead to the possibilities of nuclear war.

We Songhai would be willing to renounce the use of nuclear weapons if all the major powers agree to do so, but will not unilaterally disarm.

This strikes me as a much more sensible position, which the Roman people heartily support. Can you get the Aztecs on board? :)

Not really relevant to the above quote, just thought it might get your attention.

In another game, The Big Gamble, 12 players on huge, shuffle map, we seem to have already have lost a player. His turn has been skipped twice.

Islandia has suggested you might be willing to sub in for him and join in the game, especially since Is is in it, and it might offer you some future chance of revenge? What do you think, can you help us out?

To clarify I suggested you might be willing to sub for the missing player. I will still be in the game and available for murdering/revenge purposes :) We are only on turn 2 so I'm sure if you want, we can also completely restart if you prefer not having a crappy start spot, although I think based on what Onan has said and my own start position, we may be on the ice age map script and everyone has crappy start spots.

Many losses have resulted from the internal conflict between the two factions of Songhai. Fertilizing the fields of Kumba Saleh are the remains of 3 divisions of Mandelaku cavalry, 3 phalanxes of pikemen and one band of archers. These heavy losses weaken the might of the Songhai empire and leave it vulnerable to external threats, but there was no other way to unite the empire once more. We mourn the loss of our brothers but will press on all the way to Gao.

The Songhai civil war winds to a close as rebel fighters disappear into the hills of Kumba Saleh and blend in with the local citizenry. Askia expects some terrorist actions to follow from bands of archers in the foothills, but as an organized force, the rebellion is crushed. We encourage the rebel leader to flee for new worlds before it is too late, and his head ends on a pike outside the gates of Gao as an example for others who would rebel against the rule of Askia Muhammad the Great.

@Khan
There will certainly more ass kicking  consider you got a possible ally against the wonder whore:lol:

Pharoah gladly heard the great news that a possible universal non-nuclear aggression pact may be born. Although Aztec and other world leaders may disapprove, they are far away from Egyptian Empire for our concern. The big three heads can coerce them to comply if we sign them ASAP. :goodjob:

Caesar is happy to announce that the Roman Senate and 'street' approve of a non-nuclear aggression pact between the three current major world powers: Rome, Egypt, and Songhai. Caesar stipulates other nations of the world must not be made victim of nuclear attack by any of the three powers, with the exception that if the Monty is not interested in joining the pact, this is his right, but we and other world powers would then retain the right to use nukes against him. :D

Bravo to the Yellow Russians! May your siege of Yaroslav'l be successful! We hope you will be accepting of your half-Aztec sons and daughters....

Russ/China: if you cannot spare the lux now, you may modify the deal to provide us something else, or nothing, and still take what we have offered. :)

At the other 'great powers'...do we have a no nukes pact between us and from us toward everyone else who wants in?

Just when we thought the city would be retaken, advanced Aztec reinforcements arrive!!! :(

I'm informing that the evil emperor of the east finally reachs the center of my pacific empire and in a matter of few turns,I'll no longer give the pleasure to play here anymore . But before being vanished,I'll distribute my remaining wealthy to a player that certainly, deserve it more than my slayer .
