Onan's Speed-Optimized GMR Game

I'm informing that the evil emperor of the east finally reachs the center of my pacific empire and in a matter of few turns,I'll no longer give the pleasure to play here anymore . But before being vanished,I'll distribute my remaining wealthy to a player that certainly, deserve it more than my slayer .

A magnanimous act, for a last one!

Before you go, tell me: were your forces on the true Songhai border defensive, or were you planning to attack him? Askia Islandia of course suggests they were a threat. I would like to hear both sides, so I know better just what sort of ruler I'm dealing with in our neighbour.

Thanks. See you on the other side!

Apart from mentioning elephants in the beginning of the game. The real Songhai took advantages of this verbal threat and react in real army. Anyway, Songhai leader explained clearly that Songhai people need to unite and expand in order to compete with Egypt and Roman, so unfortunately Siamese Songhai has to be swallowed.

Egypt leader is happy to acknowledge real Songhai leader's effect to make the universal non nuclear pact work, so he decides to leave the conflict to their own hands.

Meanwhile, Egyptian troops are positioned outside Warsaw, unfortunately the Warsaw people keep complaining about becoming part of the Egypt Empire. We have no choice but to exercise our freshly upgraded weapon to silence them. We hope to creat some buffer zone between the Egypt and the growing Songhai Empire. Should any future conflict arise, we will have time to respond.

Similarly Pharoah recons Roman Empire is advanced enough to not rely on a few animals for production, therefore there is no need to settle near Egypt Empire to claim those innocent animals. Similarly we will leave the land open and declear there wild animal reserve. That should keep us free of border tension.

Russ/China: if you cannot spare the lux now, you may modify the deal to provide us something else, or nothing, and still take what we have offered. :)

We thank Rome for their generous offer! Unfortunately we are unable to move shipments of sugar to you for another 8 turns. But we've made what we feel is a comfortable counter-offer.

@LuciferKid I'm sorry but I wasn't able to view your offer this last turn. For some reason the game only allows you to make/interact with a single person per turn and this turn I was responding to an offer from Onan. If you make it again next turn I can view it :)

Chinese Russians! We ask for a research agreement in order to ensure that no hostilities should break out between us for the next 25 turning of the seasons. Many Songhai warriors returning from the great civil war are eager to find new lands to conquer, but Askia in his infinite wisdom, wishes to maintain peace and this would be a good pretext. Since this would be financed on both ends by factions of the Songhai empire, we believe this to be a great deal for you!

The Songhai (both factions) agree to the signing of a nuclear nonproliferation agreement. We do not even know what that means, but we believe these green rocks that make our people sick to be cursed and will stay away from them for as long as possible.

Caesar Onan,

Was it not your own holy prophet who said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone?" Delve too deep into the Songhai civil war, and Askia will not continue to turn a blind eye to your outrageous transgressions against the Indian empire. The rebel Songhai will tell all sorts of lies at this point, but they themselves have always wanted a united Songhai empire as mentioned earlier. Do not cause trouble Onan or you will follow your namesake in Genesis into ignominy and death.

"I was also planning to "unite" with our brothers . Unfortinately,I've made way too many mistakes," RKH

Interesting that your buffer zone will give you a common border with the Songhai. Not the best way to reduce tension!

Caesar and the Senate reject your proposed nature park. To dictate that Romans cannot settle a stone's throw from Rome is outrageous and unacceptable, and will not be tolerated. With a nuclear pact, you have no cause to make this demand.

Caesar recognises the words of Askia Mohammed and acknowledges their import. :king:

I'm guessing you sent me a counter offer before trying to see his offer? If you'd done it the other way around, I think it should have worked. Also, if you'd withdrawn your offer, then you would've been able to see his, accept it, and then again make a counter offer to me. What seems to happen is once you've made an offer to someone, you can't *initiate* any further offers that turn.

I think you're right. I'll handle it better in the future :)

Indeed, with non nuke pact, Roman developer certainly wants to build properties closer to the world trade centre and technological engine.

Our border with Songhai will touch, yes, but only these small satellite cities. The will grant vision during time when spy is not available. Egypt intends to make the former mountain range between Siamese and Egypt within the Egypt empire, that will extend our border with Songhai even longer. Probably the worst decision to be made, but that's the only way we Egypt can expand and grow in size.

Caesar is pleased with crazy old Pharaoh's acceptance of our developer's plans.

Spies? What spies? Wrong game. :P

Oh, no worries, it took me a while to figure that out, and I'm not sure I've got it right. It's a clunky mechanic, to be sure.

The Songhai's proposal will only benefit themselves. They can unlock rationalism in any turn now. The research funding will only dry the Chinese upgrade fund for little benefit. On the other hand, Egypt would like to spare some dollar to sign that agreement to ensure peace, but we doubt the smart Askia will ever agree.

Once more the Egyptians are full of propaganda. The Songhai are already a rational people just like the Egyptians. Anyone willing to sign a research agreement with the tech leader and owner of the porcelain tower is just signing his or her own death warrant so research treaties with the Egyptians are probably not going to happen. The Chinese can ensure that the Songhai do not attack and lose their capital investment by signing this research treaty. Askia would like some sugar to flavor his tea...

The Songhai Askia is planning the next wave of aggression and bullying. Although we are not planning any aggression against Songhai, but we will be watching Songhai troop movement. Egyptians suggest that the Romans should annex some CS to open an avenue towards Songhai in case Askia is getting out of control and taking the southern hemisphere for his afternoon tea pleasure.

Askia does not hide behind honeyed words like the Egyptians. We offer a fair trade to the Chinese Russians and do not need Egyptians to interfere. The Songhai have in fact followed all demands in regards to the Egyptians concerning Warsaw and this is the returns that we get? Perhaps Ramsy should be watching his own borders rather than interfering with commerce across the southern hemisphere.

The true Songhai have not lost any military strength other than one commander of Mandaleku cavalry wandering off into a village hut with a lady of ill repute and never returning, and would be willing to support Warsaw in their fight to maintain freedom from the vile Egyptians.

The dynamics and diplo in this game are so interesting. :goodjob:

Given Yellow Russian reports from the front, it seems the Aztec defence has largely been pulled from the capital. Vercingetorix could not resist this opening. Let us crush this threat between us like a vice. :deadhorse::splat::eekdance:

Egyptians only agree to leave alone the Songhai internal civil war, not bullying against Chinese Russians. Your DEMAND to the Chinese to sign research agreement or meet their own fate is not fair deal at all.

Remember the deal only lasts for 25 turns and once complete Askia will demand more or return with superior forces. Also remember that with all those puppets, Songhai is easier to make money than the Chinese. Hardly any fair deal in the eyes of the old Pharoah.

Caesar thinks crazy old Pharaoh has misread the initial offer. I see no demand, and actually I see a generous offer for the Songhai to pay for both sides of the agreement by giving the Chinese gold they captured in reuniting their empire.

Given that the likely outcome of refusing would be to be annexed by the Songhai, we encourage the Chinese to choose wisely. We'd like to keep our new allies alive!

Ceasar's idea is brilliant! Pharoah should get his gold pile up soon and fund the entire research project with Russians.
