So you don't see looking at the black person, and assuming the worst, while looking at the white person, and assuming the best, isn't wrong in some way?

I remember when the last tsunami in the pacific happened, the USA was the country that most help gave. I simply think that the people from USA that helped in the tsunami were black and white (and other races too) (More white than black, I assume, but just because there are more white people than black people in the USA)
Given the circumstances, I would have taken food from a store, either beer or soda would be fine. But I would only call "loot" if somebody takes non food goods, such a DVD or a stereo system.
How cunning she was to find bread in a grocery shop...
John HSOG said:Well, again, these were two different new agencies, so to say that there was racist intent is just moronic.
Furthermore, of course the U.S.A. gave the most help. We almost always do.

Oh, sorry, I didn't notice it was from different online-news papers: I just read it quickly and thought it was from the same editor.Lozzy_Ozzy said:So the two different news editors conspired to do this?
Yes, it is wrong: maybe, it shows a certain degree of unconscious racism.Tuner_727 said:So you don't see looking at the black person, and assuming the worst, while looking at the white person, and assuming the best, isn't wrong in some way?

Let's draw a line under that and move on.

In fact, the whole concept of thinking "the English" do this and "the French" do that is the very core concept of racism.CurtSibling said:For example:
Many get the impression that most Englishmen hate the French...
But closer inspection finds that on the individual level this is not true.

Well, sorry but one of the thing I've always found the most funny in the US racial conception of the society is the fact hispanics and "Caucasian white" are put in two distinct categories.John HSOG said:Does anyone else notice that the woman in the picture is hispanic, not Caucasian white.
That is true. I agree with you. The problem is that those merchandises were ruined for the grocery store anyway. He couldn't sell them anymore after a flood. As such, it's not really lootings as nothing is ransacked, but it's not really findings too as that stuff has been "found" in a grocery store.Regardless, these are two different stories by two different news agencies. Anyone who sees racist intent, here, is merely looking for trouble. Find me two stories by the same news agencies showing this same discrepancy in terminology, and I will sound a different tune.
