Online petition for an updated Civ III editor

never mind.

Hi Red Door (AlCosta),

did you send your email to 2K or to Firaxis ?

Hi Red Door (AlCosta),

did you send your email to 2K or to Firaxis ?

Yes, that was my contact with Eric, the publicity manager of Firaxis.

BTW, new e-mail came:

Me said:
Okay, thanks for the replies, you are the first 2K Games person the Civilization III Modding Community has been able to get in touch with for some reason.

Hi [Blankety],

I’m sorry to hear that. We’re obviously very busy lately so maybe that’s why. We appreciate your modding efforts, but obviously are protective of the source code in some cases.

Expect more involvement with the community soon!

Cheers,
Eric

Thank you Red Door.

Firaxis can´t give us the source code (for any price), as 2K is in charge of it (after-chat-party).

Jesus Christ, I hate when I'm doing 2 things at once. This is Eric Monacelli of 2K Games. Sorry for the confusion. Someone else needs to send him an e-mail to show my point. E-Mail is: inquiries@2kgames.com.

<Gogf> Yikes! :o
<Strider> Going back to an OLDER game... Civ3. Any plans to release the source code for it? Alot of modders would love you for it.
<Dale> A third? 2nd isn't out yet! lol
<Solver> Civ4: Beyond the Death Robots :D
<Strider> haha, that would make Perfection happy..
<Thunderfall> <CTH> Any changes to the game engine? Improvments in graphic or in preformance?
<alexman> I don't know about releasing the source code for Civ3. But there is source code for Civ4. Why not use that?
<GarretSidzaka> LOL some ppl are still addicted to civ3!
<Gogf> Guest740: can they explain the new religion options, i.e. how you can choose islam before buddism, and how that affects the game?
<Thunderfall> there is still a large and active Civ3 modding community. :)
<Solver> It's a flavour feature really
<Gogf> Lots of people are asking me to ask about Civ3. Quite a lot of people are still addicted!
<GarretSidzaka> :)
* Guest378 (~jirc@2ae78891.3a07d0d4.gr.home.nl) has left #civfanatics
<Methos> <Aoro> Are there any new benefits to the State Property civic to make up for blocking the use of corporations, or was that civic already overpowered?
<alexman> We had to improve performance to account for the more computationally-intensive AI, but in the end I think it's the same as for Warlords
<Ploeperpengel> I wouldn't blame them. Civ3 is still good for nice games and many poeple still have old comps;)
<Gogf> [5:45pm] SmashTheAxis: does leonard nimoy speak the quotes of the new techs?
<Gogf> If it wasn't for Civ4, I would still be playing Civ3

Quick question did this actually happen.

I thought it was pretty funny when whenever Civ3 was mentioned, it was quickly ignored...

Hey Steph what did you say.

We're obviously not that high up on their priorities list... Or most likely, we're not even on the list at all! ;)

^Word , I'll follow man you lead the way brother Storms! Serious you guys were awesome out there! -made me so proud. Anyway thanks for your noble deeds despite the fact they ain't get us anywhere, it was funny as hell :)

Add: Actually it could be said makin some noise is better then remaining quit. Now Fireaxis people had to make a concious effect to ignore you your ideas are still inserted into their heads. Mybe one guy who saw it agrees and half assly brings it up to another in the company urineral. It could roll from there. Horrible odds that it ever would but Again, better then being silent.
