I just spent 2 hours going to 4-5 stores looking for Hellsing DVD 3 (Someone took #3 but left 1,2, and 4 :mad:what kind of person would do that? ). I can not get a credit card because of my age. :( So I can not buy stuff online. I do not see why the hell I can not just order online go to the store when the order comes in and pay for it and pick it up there. Why is this?

Ask them to reserve a copy for you, and call you when it's in stock.

If there is something I really need and don't want to drive around to a bunch of stores looking for it, then I just call them up on the telephone. If they do have it, I'll ask how many they have left and if they only have 1 (or 2) left, I'll ask them if they can hold it for me. I give them my name and promise to be at the store within the next half hour to an hour to buy it. So if I don't show up within an hour or whatever, they can put the item back on the shelf. Most places will do this for me.

edit: Yeah, what Stormbind said...

I remember Circuit City advertisements pushing the same thing....or maybe even paying online and just picking it up at the store.

There are stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, and Target come to mind) that let you order online and then pick it up at the store. Do they make you pay with a credit card online? If so, I imagine it's because they're paranoid of jackasses ordering things that they're not going to buy.

Probably, I've never tried anything like this. Besides, the closest Circuit City I can think of would be in the Atlantic Avenue Mall.....I think....which is across Brooklyn, so there's no need for me to ever look at any of these things.

I don't think I've ever seen a Best Buy or Target store....

How coincidental. I had just watched the entire 13 episodes last night. :)

($*@#Y&$@(*&$  :p Lucky.

@WillJ: Yes they all require credit cards in oreder to buy online and pick up at store. CC says it outright, BB I had to search around for a little.

@The Yankee: There is a best buy, CC, Target, Borders Books(they sell DVDs and stuff also), and a store whos name I can not remember are all within a 30 minute drive from my house. :p

So why are you complaining when they are all so close that you could easily check? :p

btw phoning them is probably the best idea...

I went to every one of them. :p I was gone for two and a half hours. :crazyeye: Hmm, phone ahead. Why didn't I think of that? Probaly to lazy :p

Because at your age you can order things online...

In the US I can order stuff online at the age of five. :p The issue at hand is I have to be 18 to own a credit card without my parents premission. My parents have said no to me owning a credit card. Thats my problem. :p

They don't want to go to the trouble of pulling it and everything unless they know you're going to buy it. Though oddly Best Buy (the only place I'm sure of) will cancel your order with a full refund if you haven't picked it up in a week...

MC: If you have the income to get a checking account I think most check/debit cards can also be used as credit cards. Have you just asked your parents if you could use theirs and pay them for it? My parents never had a problem with that as long as I paid them right away.. (so they could pay it before the balance accumulated any interest)

They can't be used on the internet. My brother has one and I bugged him to hell about using it but he said they can not be used on the internet. Not to mention I only have a measly $200 in my account. :p

Well, mine's a visa and it can be, so.. *shrug*
