No quakes, typhoons, hurricanes, volcanoes, tornados, or forest fires around here. Indian uprisings ended over two hundred years ago. What with global warmong we haven't even had a decent blizzard or cold snap in five years or so. We have had a couple bad ice storms in the last 15 years. They're good for knocking out power.

Well I survived the Xmas party

I had great pleasure in banning one bigger kid from the castle for being too rough ... he didn't cry though ... oh well maybe next year ;)

Also became the firstaid boy on the day and had a multitude of cuts and grazes to administer ... some even from the kids

And even though we did purchase an extra large Santa costume ... our man required emergency costume attention ... and let me say that I'm glad I was carrying bandaids because those safety pins are sharp  ... I guess we're lucky that santa wears red and my blood couldn't be seen :p

Anyway I wish ALL members a wonderful season of good will, good friends, good food and good drink

I predict that the majority of our membership is Generation X (the one after the baby boomers)
Being Born in early 60's - late 70's, brought up on TV and early computer games, who can remember images of man stepping onto the moon.

Seems you were right, eh?

Wait!!!

Are you actually admitting that you believe those images the US government put out?!

My God, Man! Have you no sense of conspiracy alignment? ;)

Yes, yes! Even though our American intelligence agencies have proven woefully inept in many areas – they still managed to fake the moon landings, assassinate JFK, stage the 9-11 attacks, AND cover up the alien landings at roswell…. And convince all the thousands of people involved NOT to write a tell-all book… another tradition that's as American as… making conspiracy theories. ;)

Saw this… Only 89% of the US population firmly believes the Moon Landing were NOT faked!! (link ) - so yeah, we have a penchant for the wild conspiracies over here.

Psstt… did you hear that the CIA captured Santa and is holding him in an undisclosed location? … :mischief:

The conspiracy theorists claim that the government bombed the Pentagon...

That would be utterly pointless - destroying a piece of their military headquarters, and then driving all the media's attention towards the WTC?

And they've identified every body except for one as the people who were flying on that plane.

The only 'conspiracy theory' I could possibly even begin to consider believing in relation to 9/11 would be that the government shot down the plane in Philadelphia, but I wouldn't know.

And even if that was true, I think they would have been fairly justified in their actions.

Maybe 'they' were trying to destroy or the other 'they' trying to release the demon that is trapped within the pentagram prison

The conspiracy that made me laugh (and cringe at the same time) was that Martin Bryant ... the guy that killed 35 people at Port Arthur in Tasmania.

This one says he was not alone  ... another was that he was either CIA or ASIO (Australia's security org) trained as an assassin using brainwashing and programming techniques ... and that the Port Arthur massacre was a result of either a test or that he was triggered accidentally

Isn't it interesting that usually sane and rational people can believe these things :(

Sorry to change the subject, but I'm very curious about something:

Hey General_W: Are you looking forward to kicking Chamnix's butt in this game??

Maybe that's part of the strategy, do something that makes a conspiracy look really unlikely? :hmm:
And they've identified every body except for one as the people who were flying on that plane.
Did YOU indentify them? Or did you see it on TV?

Young man, you are the dream citizen of every government... :D
(no personal offense intended ;) )

I also do not believe in all those conspiracy theories related to 9/11 - but I also do not believe in everything the bush administration (or any other government) wants us to believe... :crazyeye:
And I do believe that they would not tell us the whole truth if that truth does not fit their plans... :nono:

And now we finally approach the mother of all discussion: "What is truth?" :D

Not likely. Don't even get me started on how ------ up the American existence is - socially, legislatively, and economically.
And say that again when the draft comes around =P.

Amen.

Oh god.

Did YOU indentify them? Or did you see it on TV?

C'mon, that's a canard.

I agree that a news report does not establish the factual existence of an event; but I reject the view that any event not experienced with my own two eyes is by defnition open to speculation. I've never seen the Rings of Saturn yet they do indeed exist...

You are certainly right, we should not start this by following Decartes - this apporach is tempting but won't get us anywhere in this game. In some things we will have to believe and trust...

However I will always remain a doubter - but I will try to resist posting all my doubts here. :D

Most of all I feel we really need to get this save to start some more constructive discussion... :crazyeye:

Hey General_W: Are you looking forward to kicking Chamnix's butt in this game??

Oh yeah baby!!

That will be sweet indeed!!

Ignoring for a moment that our victory is only slightly less than 100% sure... :D

However I will always remain a doubter

Me too. I don't want to leave people with the incorrect impression that I blindly believe everything I hear, see or read. However, when a preponderance of reliable sources are singing the same song, I am inclined to listen ;)
