Recently my computer crashed and all memory has been deleted including my civilization game, and i no longer had the disk. So i went to target to buy a new one and along with that i got the stronghold collection, (stronghold, stronghold 2, stronghold crusader, stronghold crusader extreme, and stronghold legends)American civil war the blue and the gray, and grand ages rome gold edition trand ages rome, and grand ages rome reigh of augustus) All look like war strategy games, has any1 played them?

I've played Rome Total War quite extensively and it is alot of fun. Especialy Barbarian Invasion that comes along with the Gold edition.

Have you tried Civilization? It's good. Get Sim City 4 if you like that kinda game. I've put hours into it.

Ive tried Sim city before, but simcity 3000, not 4, whats the difference? But i was never have been a big fan, i use to play it some, but I always seem to run out of money, bit repetitive too, wish it had more content

I've never even heard of Grand Ages Rome.

SC2K is the best. SC 4000 is too buggy/difficult in my opinion.

I totally agree if you can find in. 4000 has many advantages over 3000, save for music. Much better terraforming, and with the Rush Hour expansion, you can drive through the streets.

Well, I can safely say it is different from RTW. This game is RTS compared to RTW which is TBS game like civ with a RTS battle element.

Nevertheless ill try grand ages rome, then probablyl get rome totall war sometime in the future

Good strategic games?
I've already mentioned Rome, Medieval 2 is worth getting if you really like the time period (for the mods). Empire Total War and Napoleon aren't really worth it but I have heard great things about Shogun Total War.

Sins of a Solar Empire is fun for sci-fi. I also played Rise of Nations a looooong time ago but I enjoyed it.

Disciples II is loads of fun, but I don't think it is what you are looking for.

Personally not a big fan of fantasy games, but disciples looks pretty cool. Is there a big difference between shogun total war I and II, i saw II in target butt it was $50, ive heard of it a couple times but thought i mite wait till price goes down

Massive difference between Shogun 2 and Shogun 1. Shogun 2 just came out this year while Shogun 1 was the very first Total War game made ever. You can often pick up the early TW games in the bargain bin. I managed to find Rome TW Gold for $15.
