Situation at the start of turn T135
Spoiler :

Catapult was killed by a Sipahi that took 1 damage (overlay log message)... The "nuke" animation you get by repeatedly clicking the lost unit (catapult) message at the start of the turn .. it centers the screen on the position where you lost that unit and displays that animation.

THE BUG: The Sipahi unit came from the fog of the war[4 or 5 movement cost] [Izmir city area], run over my catapult tacking 1 damage and then "teleported back" over a continuous line of my units for 2 more hexes ... My cursor in the second screenshot is over the tile with the "nuke" effect where the catapult was destroyed and the tile is empty... This was not a case of a display bug ...The 9 HP Sipahi that did the deed is sitting comfortably 2 hexes below - having somehow managed to float trough a solid line of my units ...

Could you perhaps explain these screenshots in a bit more detail? The red crosshair-like icon that shows the Sipahi just indicates that an enemy is near your city; if you hover over it, a tooltip should indicate this is the case. The catapult looks like it's being killed by a nuke. Am I missing something? :)

a nuke or a UFO ?
in the middle age definitely a bug ! ;)

like KiffeLesBiffles, I think there are two Sipahis involved.
The first one came from Izmir, attacked the catapult and curiously both units died (it should not be possible according to this article: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=432238, but I already observed such cases)
The second one came from the other city.

Combat animations are so fast that they may be totally misleading: as I began to play Civ V, I thought the AI does not respect the ZOC rule with mounted units. In fact they moved so quickly that I did not see the exact movement that was legal.
