I play Japan in another warmongering SG, so I'd like to take another civ.

I am on duty again. Which civ should we take ? What about Persia, they have a nice UU for such kind of game and I have not played them for a long time now.

I don't know about Persia. I think we don't need to kill as fast as we can. I think Rome is a better choice. Legionaries never expire till muskets. Let's generate some Rome starts, eh? But, we will have a vote.

Good cover unit, AGR, no PITA 3000BC GA ... the only trade-off is not being MIL, but SEA has its pros

As for the good starts, you can use seedbeast to seed them back and play them with another civ.

The Dutch are good everythings. They are simply no natural warmongers. MIL + quality medieval UU, would be my favorite, but with Japan out for me this leaves only China in the pool. But Rome will do too.

Persia I have not played for quite a time, so I suggested them. China or Rome are both fine with me. Should I generate some Roman and Chinese starts ?

Sure, I'm fine with China too. Riders are fun.

I think Rome will both be the best and the funnest. Before legionaries it will be a bit of a challenge to survive, but once we get legions, we rule the world.

Start 3, settle on spot, or 2, settle on spot. 2 would need much worker action to get shields, but would be very cash heavy with the gold at the door.

I say start 2. We probably won't be able to get a granary so we need some food. Let's get this show on the road, 3 pages of civ and start debate. markh, why don't you start us off with whatever start you feel is the best?
