P666-04 : Yet Another Trash Game

Im at close to 32% domination which is nowhere near the limit. Even when 3 cities come out of revolt...that will only add 6%. The first things I do when a city comes out of revolt is whip a courthouse or a library depending on the size and if it needs culture....ie you can whip a library for 3 pop and a courthouse for 4 pop, But you need at least a size 6 and 8 respectively to do so.

... May I interupt this transmission to ask if 'the roster' feels that they would prefer
  • (a.) shorter rounds (fewer turn per round), or
  • (b.) two weeks to play 40 turns, or
  • (c.) neither (a.) nor (b.), or
  • (d.) both (a.) and (b.) but not (c.)? :crazyeye:
We will be looking for the least successful submission next, and I am not sure if everyone will beat this game in 40 turns from 1650AD - regardless of who's is deemed the most successful submission in the current round. It's my guess that following the next round - unless things go really horribly wrong, we could be looking at victory provided we continue to play 40 turn sets.

We return you to your regular programming ...

My intuition about my game seems to be supported by the numbers. I have the largest military count and am 3 turns away from crippling the only legitimate threat. Tech is irrelevant imo at this point. Only rifling is necessary for drafted troops to make the final push quickly. Frankly, it may be possible to roll over the remaining civs with the troops I have ;)

Anyways, I'll stop playing the politician now and will bow to majority opinion. I just hope whatever game we take that the focus from now on will be solely on razing and vassalizing, starting with the most powerful...This is surely the path to quickest conquest victory...

I would say let's play 20 turn sets. Judging by our position in the strongest saves right now we should only need 1-2 20-turn sets to win

too bad my vote is done already, you have convinced me :mischief:

I'm perfectly comfortable with the way we play the game now.

we went for (b), let's stick with it.
What happens if any of us win in this "trash round"?
I was under the belief that a win stops the game, even in the trash round, am I right?

Hey guys!
I'd rather stick with 40 turns / 2 weeks from now on. Let's say.. If someone manages to win this round, we may not have to choose a trash game! :)
So far I have only 4 votes. Pigswill, futurehermit and vra are missing. I'll wait about 8 or 9 more hours. If no one else votes, I'll do the maths and declare our winner.
See you later!

well, winning in the trash round would require every player winning...unlikely imo :)

That's not the rule IMHO.
Let's wait for our grand master of ceremony, the most respected and admired cam_h, to give us the way to do it.
I don't think we're very far from a win in either your game or cabledwg's.
Capitulation is a matter of power. We have the power ;)

I will vote right away...

So... Why haven't you yet?????

Let me add some to CAM_H's pendings list: how am I supposed to act in a situation like this? I have 3 pending votes and I suppose I don't have to vote either. Should I stay or should I go?
er... Should I wait or should I declare the winner?

Next Turnset - Duration

If you guys think that we can win in the next 40 turns (1820AD), then we'll just throw it open and give an imaginary :trophy2: to the fastest win. I personally think it's 'less likely' than 'likely', but 'Lord knows' that I've been wrong before!

I say we take two weeks to do 40 turns, but if someone does win in the timeframe, then we'll just race for the fastest win, and then bring P666-04 to a close and hope that someone learned something from this exercise, given that this is a learning exercise and not a competition.

Next Turnset - Voting

fbelintani,

Could you PM both pigswill and vra to give them 24 hours? It would be appreciated if you could. :D

If they still fail to vote within your timeframe, divide their respective six votes equally amongst the other submitted games (but not their own).

In case of a tie, you get the casting vote. :)

I hope you had a good mini-break, and I also hope you don't 'get busted' in your new job!

My Voting Analysis

Thanks Cabledawg for the analysis of the games. For what it's worth, one of my criteria - and a big one at that - was the PowerChart and where we stood relative to the enemies. I rated a Capitulation below a Decimation. I also used three of Cabledawg's criteria.

you're growing pessimistic cam
I strongly believe in my massive vassalization strat :).
With high power, we'll be counting to 10 and vassalize.

I've been playing too many Emperor games and getting knocked around and 'spitting the dummy' ... although several Culturals now 'under my belt'! :)

I might even surprise myself with this game - who knows? ;)

Sorry for not voting. But let me say this: war with genghis now = bad idea (best remaining ally). Not being 1st (or near it) on power graph at this point in the game = bad idea.

As long as the winning save has these 2 things, we should be fine...

Ok, guys. The clock is ticking. I'm waiting for futurehermit to vote and vra to revote.
So, 18 hours to go!
We are close to a tie!

Let's do it quick. I wanna play tomorrow!!!
