Do we still receive the effects of a pantheon in the age of exploration and in the modern age?

Similarly for religions, do we still receive its effects in the modern age?

Definitely no on Pantheons - becomes irrelevant in Exploration and beyond

On religion they once said there are “echo’s “ of it in Modern but not sure what that means. Maybe just a link with the archeology system?

When they announced echoes of Religion in the Modern Age, I expected some Exploration Traditions or Modern Age civics that allow you to keep the religion's bonuses. However, this doesn't seem to be the case. I haven't seen any indication that religion itself plays a role. The religious icons on the city banner also disappear. So, I guess the mechanics completely disappear.

I guess you keep the Happiness from religious buildings though. I wouldn't count this as an echo of religion though. Maybe they meant that Ideology takes up a similar role?

They're obviously downplaying the effect of religion in modern societies by a significant measure.

There are still religious icons on the city banners, so I assume that you still get some of the bonuses, even if you can't actively spread it.

I stand corrected. I specifically checked before making the post, but I grabbed a screenshot from the modern age stream which apparently showed a city that had no religion and extrapolated this the wrong way instead of checking more screenshots.

What I would like to see

The first Relic for your Religion gives the benefits of your pantheon to the one city it is in.

some modern Social policies that give benefits to cities you have that are fully the same religion as your capital (if the capital is fully one religion)
(maybe
Religious Education… Public Schools give Happiness if for cities that have the same religion as the capital
Free Religion…Happy for cities without the same religion as the capital
etc.

I'm guessing some things like relationship between other civs also being a bit affect by having same or different religions?

It is most of all a mechanic choice than anything, but I also think makes sense that what seems to be the substitute on Modern, the ideologies. In that in more modern times religion gets a lot entangled with ideologies and governments in how they affect societies in a broader way. For example, in how the USA made the American Democracy x Soviet Communism associate a lot with religion by making it being the religious America versus the godless communists.

Since everyone has their own religion, I'm guessing this is unfortunately not the case. :(
