HoI3 finally get out of the premium beta stage it has been in, sadly we loyal fans will now get milked some more for mostly basic features that should have been in the original release.

I really hope they don't use the same business model for Victoria 2.

It's the same model they used for EU3, why would they stop what works for them. That's why I won't buy any of their new games unless really cheap or a complete edition later on.

Paradox aren't some huge company with unlimited resources, they are very small compared to most games manufactures.

Victoria 2 isn't even expected to make a profit by the head of the company, he ok'ed it because the developers convinced himt eh fans wanted it.

With some 80 games published Paradox is far from being the very small company they were just five years ago.

A lot of which were not huge sellers, and they still have small development teams it seems.

Not that the buggyness of initial releases is excusable, but the end product is totally awesome.

"Rest of the World focus?"

I'm skeptical. This is Paradox, so it will probably revolve around improved European colonization rather than alleviating the horrible eurocentrism of the game, but let's see what they will do.

i.e. Mount and Blade, right? Some of their games have a huge fan community and lots of mod.

Paradox did not get the publishing rights to Mount&Blade until several months (ish, don't forget exactly) before the official release of the game, before that thousands of people had already bought it during beta (I myself purchased it when it was v.632 and without even half the features it has at release). And while M&B has been successful, its nowhere near pumping millions of dollars into Paradox's treasury.

Playing M&B Warband, my character just won a tourney at Praven.
The girl was lvl 3, STR and AGI both 6 and relevant skill (Polearms) was 37 before the jousts started.
Never expected to pass the first tier.

I've heard of it and I'm interested, but haven't tried it yet.

Anyone here played Supreme Ruler 2020? I found the main campaign a little of a letdown, but the scenarios (Especially "The 49th Parallel") to be awesome.

I found it pretty good, the speed is the only real big flaw. It pretty much forces you to play the game in the background, i havent played it since i bought a 2nd monitor, maybe it would be good on a 2 monitor setup (one the game the other for whatever surfing the net and doing other stuff)

Anyway i'm installing Semper Fi right now so i doubt i'll start playing SR:2020 GC again anytime soon.

EDIT: Sadly Semper Fi bring no (measurable) performance improvement, i might play a couple of games with some of the major powers but replayability or playing as a minor power is pretty unbearable at these speeds.
I hope they don't ruin Victoria 2 like this.

A poll put up by Paradox asking what expansion people would like to see next, EU3 Rest of the World (46% of the vote), a EU: Rome expansion (probably Alexander) 27%, another HoI 3 expansion or an expansion for Victoria 2.

can someone explain to me, how to manage convoys in HoI 2 doomsday armaggedon? , I still don't get quite precisely in which way should convoys be operated neither how to make a good use of them or even more far... how important are they?

Just let the AI handle them.

Have you seen the "How the heck do you play this game AAR" on the HoI2 forums? It's incredibly helpful.
