Paradox Interactive games

Would Europa Universalis 3 ever be released with it's expansions in a box? I don't know if I'll be able to pay for downloads (one of the reasons why I haven't got Deus Vult for Crusader Kings yet).

Maybe at some point, they did an anthlogy for Hearts Of Iron 2 afterall, but I don't think it will be any time soon. Can't be sure though.

Wow, that is rather silly.

Nice deal there. Maybe I'll get it.

In the meantime, I'm in the conclusion of doing an AAR.

I will give you a few choices on who to be:

1. New England (unfortunately, there needs to be a new tag for Armageddon)
2. Poland (Interesting, though war needs to happen)
3. Norway (Will mod Scandinavia uniting event)
4. Ukraine (Cool)
5. Crimea (Harder than Ukraine, but still nice)
6. Ireland (Looks good for industrializing)
7. Finland (Modding Scandinavia event in)

This will have cheating involved. First, I will release them as satellites. Second, I will switch and cheat a Revolution event, breaking me free of satellitedom. Next, I go mod in all units with home provinces in the country I play as into the country.

I have EU3 and its really fun except that colonization and province improving/building seems too expensive. I am planning on getting either Victoria or HOI2 but I do not know which one to get.

Welcome to the forums! I'm not an expert, but I hear HOI2 is simpler, while Victoria is the most complicated Paradox game.

Complication is no problem. In my fist game in EU3 i nearly conquered the world with only a basic understanding of how use the game when I started.

I find Victoria the best Paradox game. I recommend getting the Revolutions expansion pack and downloading the VIP mod.

To restate almost certainly completely understood quasi question for no real reason; Which is better Victoria or HOI2? (Better = more fun to play, more things to do, less periods of doing little or nothing, less boring, etc.)

I've just said:

But Victoria is horribly complex and unless you have a micromanagement fetish it is impossible to play anything larger than Belgium efficiently. HoI 2, on the other hand, can be played a lot more casually than Victoria and emphasizes action rather than economics. So if you want to build an industrial empire, go for Victoria. If you want to conquer someone else's empire, go for HoI 2.

Edit: And this is coming from a dedicated Victoria player.

@D'Artagnan59
Poland, it's possible to conquer Germany if you work fast enough. :)

I ussually play as either Greece or Britain. I have also tried France and Prussia. I would stay away from Russia though. In my experience it is not hard to have a reasonable economy (eg +400 in the 1860s) with Britain or France, but the AI is quite warmongering so i stoped playing as France since i am not interested in waging battle against 300.000 german soldiers..
Britain is a more relaxed game since you do not have to go to war with anyone and so can focus on your economy. Greece is the same, but in a smaller scale, here the goal is to have a +100 economy by the late 70s, and all core provinces.
The game does get boring though, when you have built all you wanted to. And endless war is not appealing to me. So i have yet to complete a game, although i have played tens of times.

Personally I like the export function that Victoria: Revolutions have. It's just that after a long game of Victoria to be able to see clearly the result of your policies on your tech teams is great.

I think I'm finally going to go and get one of the games. What would you guys suggest? I'm thinking most likely for EU3 with the expansions as looking at IN it seems like everything's made good. HOI2 I haven't really looked into much other than trying the demo a bit but I don't like that it seems like you have to turn everything you conquer into puppets or something. Rome seemed good in the demo but I've heard it sucks. I don't know much about Victoria or Crusader Kings but I remember hearing about some colonial wars in Vicky that work stupidly and something about CK in general being kind of not as good. See my problem is if there's a single issue with a game, even if it's great otherwise, I won't be able to enjoy the good from the game and will simply be annoyed by the bad and never play it so I'm kinda looking for whatever's the most perfect game they've made yet.
