Hey, I just said I was looking forward to seeing Mao and Lenin, and that I wish Stalin were still on display. Are the tens of millions of non-Chinese people (read: tourists) who look forward to seeing Mao every year condoning genocide? Get real, but more importantly get a clue and stop relying on logic that makes no sense.

Do you consider Mao and Lenin to be "gods" as well? Or was the title of this thread just an immensely bad choice? It sickens me to see any human referred to as a "God", regardless of what they've done.

As for the allegations of his atrocities, well these are of course exaggerated and ignore the facts. He invaded Cambodia to liberate that country from a genocide, had he been as bad as his detractors unfairly claim, he would have allied himself to that state or at least tried.

WHAT IGNORED FACTS? The mass graves in Hue, of which I have videos of the graves being excavated and the bodies being carried out and the mourners weeping for their dead? Spare me your rhetoric.

I'm not a big fan of Pasi, but to say truth I don't think he wanted to insult anyone by "Yellow man". I think he was just citing american soldiers terminology of vietnamese in times of Vietnam war.

The war started because Diem, the very brutal Catholic ruler of the South, refused to hold the referendum on Vietnamese unity after the country was partitioned at the Ben Hai River in 1954, the referendum scheduled for 1956. He did this because he knew full well that Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party would win and become the government of the unified Vietnamese state. The Communists thereafter, with a wholly just pretext, started warring against the South and it's corrupt government. Diem was then assassinated by his own troops (because he was such a brutal ruler) in 1963, before American assistance was sought.

Ahh, so if Bush invades Iraq over WMD and to kill a tyrranical dictator who has slaughtered his own people time and again, he is the devil and should be impeached. If Minh invades South Vietnam because they won't hold a referendum, he's a god. Gotcha.

Hope this clears up your clear lack of knowledge and gets through years of brainwashing. You know, I have over the last little while become acquainted with a ex-cavalry man who was drafted to fight here and after the war came back to live. Strange, he was nowhere near as brainwashed as you clearly were and is much more knowledgeable about the causes of the war.

In 1956, Ho Chi Minh launched a war using true pretenses against a country whose people wanted them there in the first place. Diem is responsible for the war, not Ho Chi Minh.
