Yes it's the truth! Pat Robertson can leg-press 2,000 pounds!

At least according to his Christian Broadcasting Network. Anyone here actually has that channel and isn't ashamed enough to tell us about it?

Between this and Cgannon's Co2 is good for you videos, I wonder wich one is more believable?

Wait a second. If they claim he can do 2K, why do they only show a video of him doing 1K?

We're doomed, doomed I tell ya! Soon he will release his superstrong minions upon us!

Seriously, though, evidently he doesn't quite grasp the concept of "proof" or he wouldn't claim 2K while only showing 1K.

I believe that assertion the same way I believe the rest of his declarations and statements. (meaning, I don't believe anything that project of person says)

even if its just 1,000, 1000 pounds is still a lot, and this guy is old. Was he doing more than one rep of all that weight, or what that his max.

I was told that a healthy person ought to be able to leg press around double their body weight (and bench their weight). Pat weighs what, 160? Impressive!

Oh yeah! Well I could destroy Pat Robertson with my fists!

He did 10 reps at 500, 700, 900, and 1,000 lbs. Though the reps weren't exactly taking the weight all the way down and back up... Not bad for a 74 year old guy. Maybe he's quit cutting his hair!!

Still, they need to retract the 2K claim. He was struggling with the 1K.

Coming Soon to a Theater Near You:

Pat Robertson vs. Chuck Norris

(of course, Jack Bauer could take them both at the same time, probably between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.)

:bump:
I'm not sure everyone had a chance to enjoy the awesome power of God's representant on this Earth.

I guess it is time for Pat Robertson to use his legs to destroy Hugo Chavez. ;)

Psssh, *I* can leg press one tonne, no problem. As long as it's at a 15% incline ...

Looked like a 45 degree incline there.

However, he wasn't anywhere close to actually taking full reps at 1000 lbs, he didn't take full reps at any weight in the video. Plus, he helps with his hands.. it's pretty crappy form actually.

It's similar to people swinging dumbbells like crazy thinking they're super strong. It's just silly. He certainly has some leg strength, but if you want to impress people with leg strength it's not mini-reps on a leg press that show anything, it's full length squats.

Why am I reminded of Kim Jong Il's claim to have gotten like four holes-in-one in a round of golf? What is it with some people and their bogus feats of awesomeness?

Doubt not Saint Pat's might works! Or he, as God's Representative on Earth, shall call down a mighty reckoning upon thee! Holy Fire shall incinerate thy bones and sinful thoughts, and all thou belongings!

Note: The Holy Fire can be extinquished using the Holy Spring Water, available from the "Christian" Broadcasting Network of Big Mouths for your humble prayer, plus a one time donation of $19.95, plus tax. And all your wildest dreams will come true too.

I can do about 300 and I've never met another human being who can do as much as I can. Of course, this being the internet, I'll now be bombarded with claims that people can do ten times that.

I mean, I'm a small guy but I have always focused on the legs more than any other area.
