Patch 2.13 won't work

I've tried to update my Warlords version to 2.13, but when I try to run the installation file, I get an error: "Unable to locate Civilization 4: Warlords installation. Please" something or other. I've tried it a few times, but it still doesn't work. I am running a 64-bit Windows 7 laptop. Can I have some advice?

Basically you need to install Vanilla, Warlords and patches in a specific order. Also, always use "run as administrator"

In case you got your Civ from an online shop (Steam, GamersGate, Direct2Drive, etc), then you'll need a special patch, which has to be available via the shops site, because the normal patches are not compatible to these versions.

Normal patches work with the Gamersgate and D2D (Gamefly) versions.
