I am very much interested in features such as:

save games: will they still work and are compatible

I found that mine loads fine with the patch.

mods: will the patch override all the modifications I have done (blue marble, ini file, zooming functions etc etc)

By what I read, you have to uninstall blue marble before you can install the patch, and then reinstall the graphics mod. As for ini, it seems to override it.

I got the "no update available" thing and then a crash which lead me here to post to see if anyone elses get a crash just hitting the "Update" button thing. I don't have neither the Bluemarble thing nor any mods so I am pissed I might not be able to download it when it is bug free and yet pleased at the same time that I won't have to have a buggy patch on my game. Hey Ginger_Ale have my countless minor bugs I found been fixed? Thanks for answering in advance.

The patch will be out whenever they fix the bug and retest it. It could be tomorrow. Just be patient. If you have a lot of trouble with the patch, then uninstall it. I have yet to see a non-preinstalled patch that couldn't be uninstalled from Add or Remove Programs.

@The Condor: The patch was pulled. You got "No Update Available" because there actually is no update available.

I've got the (faulty) patched game. WorldBuilder doesn't work, goody huts do. I got Mysticism very early on from one as Mao, so I surprisingly got Buddhism and Hinduism in my first city. I'm curious as to what the bugs exactly are, would those be the extremely slow movies and the WorldBuilder problem?

seems to be the first collectors item, i can remember, distributed online.

No Worldbuilder is certainly a 'feature-killer' (showstopper) bug that would require an immediate patch pull.

Maybe. I think the mods have insider info.

...otherwise, time to start another thread about it. :D
My guess is sometime next week ...Soren and Sid are on their way to Paris and London...it is a holiday week here in the US...

that mean than i can't remove the patch without uninstalling CivIV...

LAnkou, try [Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs]. You should be able to find something like "Civilization 4 Patch 1.08" there. Then you would uninstall that, and it wouldn't completely uninstall Civ4. Just make sure that there is a separate item for the patch and for the original game.

Um, just copy your sav games and custom stuff to another folder, it does not take long to uninstall/reinstall. I've done it many times over the last month...in order to install the patch you had to remove custom stuff anyway, and the patch set the .ini file back to default, so you have to redo that too if you made changes either way.

I'll edit the heading of the thread so people know the patch had been pulled to avoid more confusion...

Be nice...I don't want to be accused of whining! ;)

On Edit: Thanks - I did not know if I could do that on this forum. :goodjob:

Really? They pulled the patch? I downloaded/installed it, played for about an hour I guess, and they've pulled it already? Is it just the world builder missing?

Oh good, it's been changed. You might want to edit or at least post another announcement on the index page too.

@alms66, I think there was a fairly significant multiplayer bug.
