I've uninstalled blue marble and still no go.

I think its Firaxis pulling the patch or the demand for the file crashed the server ( 2 different and possible scenarios ) just rumour and speculation.

I'm going to put Blue Marble back and go back to playing Retail till I hear more.

well, i have the europe DVD and the menu are
    -Play
    -Read-me
    -Quit

in the start/programs/firaxis/civ, there is no choice for uninstalling (even entire civ4)

    so what can I do?

The patched patch is likely to have a minor incremental version number added to it, so as long as the first patch didn't break the patching system, the *new* patch will override the old one if you installed it, and if not, it doesn't matter.

I can't be sure, since I never had a chance to install the patch, but you should be able to find it in [Add or Remove Programs] in your Control Panel.

Using add and remove programs maybe (sometimes patches can be removed that way)? Otherwise uninstall and reinstall civ4. Doesn't take that much time.

One has to do with multiplayer (or it is an annoyance in multiplayer), the other I am not sure.

thanks for all you guinea pigs out there....you should know by now to be careful instead of blindly installing

I am very much interested in features such as:

save games: will they still work and are compatible
mods: will the patch override all the modifications I have done (blue marble, ini file, zooming functions etc etc)

I will just sit back and be patient until you guys tested it:)

also, Ginger_Ale, do you have any information whether all those bugs of your thread have been addressed, since I can't see that in the description

From a post earlier in the thread, yes, they are compatible, unless something changes for the next release of this patch.

I find it funny that the patch was available via in game update first. In my mind, the ones that need the patch the most are the ones that can't even start Civ4.
