Patch is out!!!

I strongly believe that no AI civs should have predictable "traits" or "tendencies".
Please say goodbye to "furor teutonicus", "ancien regime", Chinese cho-ku-noo and Roman Legion.

After all, civs should be the same....

That's not what he said at all. He said that the AI shouldn't be predictable (and hence exploitable). Gandhi shouldn't be a pacifist and Genghis a warmonger because of some hardcoded trait, if the game situation is not favorable to that path.

Civ is not and never has been a historical simulation. I'm sure that the leaders represented in game would have taken different paths had their situations deemed it appropriate.

Thank you Dralix. You understood.

I started a new game after I installed the patch destroyed my previous saves. I´m playing with max number off civs and somehow managed to have 2 Siams and 2 Arabs in the game. The colors for each of them are changed (1 set original and yellow/black, orange/black) but the names are the same which leads to quite some confusion which of the civs I should go to war with if another leader asks me.
I suppose the two additional civs are placeholders for Spain and Inca?, but why are they in my game if I havn´t got the DLC?

There is room for 22 civs to accommodate DLC and modding. If you have less than 22 civs installed and play with that many you will have duplicates. If you don't want that, play with 20. :p

Yep, it crashes... Confirming now. The first game was smooth crash free, the second game crashed on turn 150.

I hope you read this Firaxis. There is a need for a quick fix.

There was a small patch, version 1.0.1.141 or something now. Supposedly it fixes random crashes... YEAH RIGHT!!! My game keeps crashing on turn 412... 3 turns before victory! Thank you, I'm so glad I spent 6 hours playing that!

Or is this another "not working with the save" patch!?

All 3 games I've played with this new small patch had several CTDs in the late game.
Re-load and continue until the next CTD happens.
The last 2 patches made civ5 even more unfun to play. (Island city spamming )
If it's impossible go back to previous patches then I'm done with this civ version.

One of the biggest changes I am seeing post-patch is the drastic reductions of Trading Posts. On my continent with four other civs, we each have about 6-7 cities each (around 860ad) and I only count ONE Trading Post in the whole continent. I have build none (don't see any need to) and the Songhai have built none either but have built 18 farms. Quite a difference than pre-patch where there were Trading Post spams.

Have had this game since November and a huge processor, graphics and memory upgrade to my PC. i have reached turn 523 on a huge world game and finally have to give up. Such a disappointment, the game keeps crashing. I have quick-saved each individual move as well as each 'year' - money well spent? - NO! I await a further patch to overcome late game freezes.

make sure you have auto update on. also you will know if you have the patch by seeing the "Play Civ World" in the main menu.
