you'll love this - that email from rolo finally turned up ... in my spam folder. I've asked rolo to regen the map and (after thinking about it) asked him to include 1 source of marble and stone for each team. This will encourage setting up trade routes between team members and them haggling over who gets first use of the marble / stone.

The other option is that I set the map up with either max zoom or min zoom and resource flags off and then forget what I saw. You guys ok with that?

Or, wait for Rolo again, cause I'm moving from one side of the Arctic to the starting in 2 days, so I'll be "off-line" for awhile anyway.

So, do you want a full regen or simply to add a stone and a marble per team?

I have the save and it works. Rolo has set us up as France + England v France + England (different colors). He was hoping to replicate the 100 year war.

Karhu and I will play the House of Plantagenet leaving Mitch and Dazz to play the House of Valois. The first turn will take a couple of days as there is much discussion that needs to take place within the team. I've started a thread at CFC for Plantagenet discussion (no peaking until you lose Mitch and Dazz!). I expect that the other team will also start a discussion thread.

Game related matters (where is the save?) will be posted in this thread.

I haven't had a chance to look at the save too much. I did notice that we only had one source of Horses and no Copper. For some reason, I thought there would be at least two each of the key strategic resources (Copper, Iron, and Horses). Copper probably isn't much of an issue since with Iron we should be able to build all of the key units (right?). However, with only one souce of Horses, only one of us at a time will be able to build Knights.

Dazz, I opened up a new thread for our discussion. Let's do our strategic planning there (so that Ruff and Karhu can go back after we destroy them to figure out where they went wrong). I probably won't be able to put too much time into it until Monday...

Actually - I did. I found one rocking city site that I was thinking of making my capital but it would of involved settling on turn 4 - a little behind the 8 ball. I was tossing up do to it or not. Will post a screenie later.

Out of curiosity, why would it matter if it were your capital or your second city. It would obviously matter under Bureaucracy, but that's not a valid civic choice if I remember correctly. To make that location your capital, you would have had to delay both of your cities by 4 turns. Definitely not worth it in my book.

OK. I'm usually good about playing my turns quickly. However, in this game a lot of decisions must be made before we can make our first moves. Dazz and I haven't said word one to each other about this game yet. I've opened our thread but it's bare right now. Give us a few days to figure out our game plan.

By the way, I'll be in Vega$ this weekend with some of my buddies and I won't be taking my computer with me. If I don't play my turn by Friday, it'll have to be early next week.
