Found a barb warrior. Thank goodness it was only a warrior. I made the biggest noob mistake of all time by having four of my workers on a tile with an archer as protection. Thank goodness my archer lived.

I was so excited to finally get Alphabet. I opened up the diplo screens and nobody has anything to trade. I'm thinking everybody got Alphabet on the exact same turn. I hit the F8 key and realize no tech trading allowed in this game. Doh!

I'm beginning to resent this island.

Every turn it religiously provides two or three barbarians coming in from the darkness for despatch. My axemen are now promoted way beyond the point here I'm concerned anymore..even with the latest stream of swordsmen.

...but never a single juicy baa-baa town to conquer.
