I tried last night to start a PBEM game to make sure I'd be able to do it for an upcoming game I have. I was successful but it asked me to type in an administators password. I did this, then it ask me for a regular password. I did this also. But why would I even need to enter an administators password? what does having the administrator's password set do to the game? When will they ask me for the administrator's password again?

thanks,
Ben E. Gas

The admin password is for you, as admin, to admin the game. ;)

E.g. if a player disappear, you can set to kick him outta the game, and replaced by an AI. And other stuff.

Obviously, you don't want all players to have this option...

The normal password is for your normal game.

Another question:

How do I replace a player that has left? Or how do I kick them off if they stop responding and playing?

thanks,
Ben E. Gas

If they don't respond, just ask for a replacement or retire their civ. If they left a password, you're going to need it unless you just tell the replacement player the admin password.
