pbem - straight up, no gimics, minimal restrictions

So these 2 Japanese axemen on sentry duty were watching the to-ing and fro-ing of the Greek army outside the city.

Suddenly one says Hai, look yonder, That looks like Alexander the Great going for ablutions in the bushes accompanied by his valet. It couldn't really be him. Could it. So they creep closer. And yes there he was squatting besides a banner saying Alex the Great.

They simply could not forego the opportunity and attacked. The valet defended well but was wounded and fell to the ground. Alexander, if it was him, pulled himself together, and came to his valet's defence, He fought valiantly and killed one of the Japanese axemen but fell mortally wounded to the axe of the second soldier.

Collecting the banner, the axeman ran back to the security of the walled city, with this tale to tell.
 
gps but it seems Tachy / M. capo has retired from the game, turning the Greeks over to AI.
 
Really? That seems pretty lame. Do we want to try and get a human replacement?
 
Anyone got any friends that want to play as the Greeks here? I cannot play until Friday ... so I guess we have until then to find someone.

I just posted in the 'player needed' thread. Anyone got a write up for the Greeks? I only just met them.
 
Someone (a really evil muffin-head) reached out to me regarding picking up Greece. I will be flipping him my latest save but this will mean that everyone will have to replay their turn (sorry about that). Remember to delete the old save before playing your turn to avoid the password bug.

Hey all I have picked up the game from where taxy has left off. Happy gaming all!

I have had a look at where the last turn ruff sent me but am unsure if I need to play it? Tracker says it is his turn. I guess from reading the thread I do but will just wait for confirmation. Diplo wise I seem to be in a couple of wars though... Is there any reason why? Could I get a hello from herc and methinkso? I assume that taxy attacked you both yes? I really can't see the reason to be at war with 2 people as the aggressor at the same time myself...
 
The group played a whole round with the Greeks as an AI. As such, I reverted to the last non-AI Greek save I have and sent that to REMuff. @REMuff - you will have to play that save and send it to methinkso. Next time I see the save, I will update the tracker ... but we might need to do this re-done round manually.
 
This is just what I need, REM joining another game to war with me. I swear you must have it out for me! :p

But as far as our war situation goes, the Greeks attacked my scout near his territory without warning and he has since but assaulting my border city with phalanxes since then. I'd be willing to negotiate peace. The war has been a dead end for both parties for several centuries and I think our resources could be better spent elsewhere.

I do rather miss the AI turn that played out though. He suicided most of his stack and ran the rest away. I had thought Tachy had lost his mind.
 
Yeah I can see that the AI would have just smashed into the cities... Ah well. And we are at peace in the other game now too!

Seems like a poor reason to go to war though. I take it the razed city was yours as I have only 2 settlers built? Or was it barb? I at least understand the war with you though, but if he had sent the stack that went to herc at you York would probably be his! I would be happy to negotiate peace too though I feel :)
 
Where is the game at? @REMuff - Do you need an email for methinkso?
 
I played it and posted it to the thread here a couple of days ago (see above) I don't know where it is now, but I would hope methinkso picked it up as he posted after me!

Its a new save actually. We have to redo the last turn because of tachy retiring which caused the AI to take over.
 
He means you sent him the wrong save I think methinkso - as in the one you sent was the old save from the AI again, not the one you played after I sent you.
