warmonger respect is a modifier between two AIs - each one has one - the lower of the two is used, e.g. two AIs have warmonger respect of 2 then both have a mutual +2 in their attitude, one AI has 2 and one has 0 then both have mutually 0 attitude from this modifier...

Ahh, thanks... another AI advantage that I wasn't aware of!

Actually the way it is implemented it is not so much an advantage as an attempt to make the warmongering AIs (most of which happen to have 2 in this value) more likely to go for the throat of the peacemongering ones (most of which have a 0) rather than go after each other and leave the peacemongers in peace

Gang,

Quick question: On page 73, on the culture calculations, it says that the cathedrals provide 50% culture 'when its religion is the state religion'. It does not say this on the individual building descriptions, it just lists +50% culture. I think they give 50% culture all of the time?

DJ_anon, thanks as always, wonderful guide!

Best wishes,

Breunor

Hi there

Just had a flick through the booklet, great work! :goodjob:

Just noticed though, on page 72 under Military Experience, shouldn't the Pentagon be listed as providing experience points?

This is a fantastic piece of work - great information, good layout, beautiful presentation. I'll send you a postcard soon. :)

One thing I noticed though: the 'tech trading' section of the AI behaviour descriptions looks wrong to me. For example, Mansa Musa is labelled as 'very averse' to tech trading, while Tokugawa is labelled as 'willing'. This is the exact opposite of my experience - Mansa Musa actually trades techs even when furious, and Tokugawa won't do it unless he's pleased (and even then, it's rare, for reasons explained in a moment). To me, it looks as though all of these are the opposite way round. Also, the percentages themselves look correct, but I'm not sure the description of their function is right - my understanding of the behaviour in the game is that that number is the percentage of rival civs who must know a technology before the leader in question is willing to trade it away. For example, Tokugawa's number is 100%, meaning he never trades away any technology unless everyone except the recipient already has it (ie. 100% of the other civs). Similarly, Mansa Musa's number is 0%; he'll trade away a technology even if nobody else in the game has it yet. The description you give doesn't sound quite like this to me, although it's possible that I'm the one who's mistaken here.

Please could you clarify what you mean by the ratings 'very averse', 'averse', 'willing', etc., and check your description of what the percentages mean.

All that aside, this is really fantastic; well done for creating it! :)

i agree--it looks like the tech trading factors: (averse/willing and % of techs that it will trade) have been reversed on this sheet. Otherwise, it looks good.

I can't open it. It says file can't be open, can't be decrypted or something like that. what can I do?

Stupid me, had a very old version of Adoebe. Upgraded it, works great.

One comment I can make, is when you lable your terrian, you movment listing is off to the right side, witch I would think it better if it was in the middle of it's colum instead.

Great job done. All I can say is WOW never expected it to be this good. This is the poster that should have come with the game, just like in CivII or Call to Power 2

Nice work, @dj_anion, thank you very much!

doWar is called every turn. IF doWar decision is made the game applies the attitude factors and asks whether it ignores it or not (10% means it ignores doWar 10% of the time, 100% means it ignores it 100% of the time).
The doWar mechanism is a dice roll, but before it comes to this the game looks at some xml values for each leader to find out if the leader feels himself strong enough to declare war (those thresholds differ for each leader and for whether the opponent is nearby or on another continent). I can try to dig out the doWar code, but I will certainly not do it in this thread - I don't want to drag it away too far from this wonderful work posted here ;)

Hi @ori. Have you done such a research?

Or more to the point, both Pericles and Sitting Bull are Cautious towards me.
Pericles is agg level low, 20/70/100/100.
Sitting Bull is agg level medium, 50/90/100/100.
Which one of them is more likely to dow me, all other thing being equal?

I understand that 'agg level' affects the doWar decision and that 'peace prob at cautious' is a chance to avoid a 'doWar=yes' result. But I don't know which factor is more relevant, thus the Pericles/S.Bull example.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Just a quick question.

Has anyone had any luck at printing the A5 booklet borderless? On my Canon 6000D borderless is only available for A4. I realize that I could print the A4 borderless and the do the whole fold thing, but with this many pages I would prefer to print the a5, and the punch holes for a binder.

Thanks!
