PH S21E02: There is a Title

Wow! It is SO much easier to use the posted saves rather than playing all the turns out every time? :dunno: who knew?!

Fun fact! My screen capture took photos of the youtube video i was watching while playing, and not any of the Old World stuff! isn't that neat!

T81
I, of course, took the "foreign capital" amibition, and pressed enter.
The Waset gov died. Long live the governor:
01

I upgraded ?? (something i can't read)
Waset: Worker>Miner for more metal
Taremu: Caravan > Jew. Disc.
Menoe: Chariot>Camel Archer

I moved some units in the Danemark back towards Carthage for peacekeeping measures. We also are going to need four settlers! yikes!

t82
I sent some Stone for Science to Rome as part of an event, and we got the "Volunteers" event at Thesis: free Axeman! nice.
Another Gov died. this time at Hut-Waret. New gov:
02

This was the only one w/o a penalty.
We also completed the Training ambition, and we're at 5/10.

t83
Per-Med: Chariot > Festival I
I also sent out a bunch of luxuries so we're now at 5/6 for that ambition.

t84
Rebels event!
03

good thing i started to move down some of those units :)

Aaaaaaand another dead governor, at Meroe:
04

Waset: Miner>Stonecutter
Meroe: C Archer > App Poet

We took the Danish site north, and got the "Strange Encounters" event: We searched the ruins of these barbarians and sold their trinkets.

t85
Doctrine chosen as the next tech. WHY? [ed note: i was counting on the picture to jog my memory; alas, that did not work out as planned.]

Taremu: Jew. Disc > Festival II
Thesis: Forum I > Gardener
Hutella: Forum II > Miner

t86
Our poor Grandson in now Corrupt! Forsooth!!

We chose a new ambassador to replace yet another death:

Waset: SCer > Miner
Shashotep: Rancher > Fisher
Herwer: Worker > Moat
Meroe: App Poet > War Elephant

I ended there. We've got just a bit of mopping up to do with the Danish, but it can wait until after Carthage. I noticed Rome trying (so far, unsuccessfully) to take one of their southern cities, so maybe we should declare this set or the next at the latest. Our units are *mostly* in position, as I think Carthage may have units away from our border, and we have some of ours taking care of those rebels in our interior.

We can use our Danish army to quickly eliminate those couple Carthaginian cities and sites that we ex-danish settlements, while using the bulk of the army to go after carthage first, adn then see whta's what. really, taking carthage for the ambition and the city sites (plus the four we have of our own we still need to settle; yes, i did NOT build any settlers so we still ened 4!) means we have the game well in hand and just need to figure out how to win.

Legend has it, @Dale meticulously recreates the save file using notepad after every update we give.

No screenshots means no pictures of mostly-bald-except-side-ponytail dude. I'm fine with that.

Poor Carthage. But it sounds like a good time to strike. Should we try to strike up peace with the barbarians so we can fully commit our troops to salting fields?

What was that? A massive amount of civics, training, money and orders? Sure! ;)

And yes, that's in notepad. The greatest development environment ever created. :D

you'll never capture my own missing ingredient . . .

Love.

and ear wax scented candles.

@PiR nah, you're on double-deck. you don't need to start loosening up, but you should stare menacingly at the opposing team just in case

Oh great side pony tail, how you have not seemed to age that much with all the turmoil in the world.

"What is you command your side-hairyness?"

"Press Enter"

"As you command, odd-mullet."

I was on top of everything until this point (ie loading up the save) but here comes the fun....

As we're in war (or soon to be) this seemed the logical thing to do

"How the year has aged you but not your lustrous hair my pharaoh!"

PzWWxFn.png

"Shut up Ozbenno and move some troops around."

This seems the best option

Awesome, child soldiers

So I moved some units around, some heading for the last (?) Danish city and others surrounding Carthage as we have to take a capital for our arrowed thingy.

And that is for someone else to accomplish :mischief:

Dear lord, it looks like he's been mummified alive....

That city should be conquered in 1 turn, 2 max!
Also the other ambition is now doable in 1 turn :)
You underestimate my ability to screw things up!

we should figure out a win condition. I don't think i've ever won any other way except for ambitions since i'm usually do more rp decisions as the game goes on.

and yet, that hair keeps on keeping on.

Hint taken. Cancelled peace with Carthage and….

iu

Sneak attack against Carhage’s capital. I think 2-3 more turns of attacking will be needed. Carthage has a chariot half way between their capital and one of our undefended workers. Will they go back to defend, or take the easy bait?

Go us! What a sight to behold! Though I don't remember that side pony tail in the original plans...
Edit: there was another screenshot here that’s not appearing. We finished building the collosus. I edited the screenshot and added a side ponytail to it. Not as funny now that I type it out….

Two of our adult sons are having a petty argument. I'm not going to dignify it with a screenshot. They're making me choose between them - our beloved heir, or some rando not even high enough to be in the line of succession. Sorry buddy, I'll happily disown you for the heir.

Carthage took the bait and attacked our worker instead of defending their capital. I'm going to let them take the worker to keep the distracting going, since we have more units than we can move every turn anyway.

Our missionary is exploring far and wide looking for someplace that hasn't heard of Judaism yet. Apparently it's done a good job spreading itself. Also, looks like Rome and Babylon are busy trading blood and flesh. Don't mind the rabbi wandering about.

upload_2022-1-31_20-55-35.png

Third turn of attacking. Took the city down to zero health, killed the defending unit, and....the worker took over organizing a defense. Going to be another turn of siege. Sigh.

I don't think I've mentioned it yet....BUT I FREAKING LOVE ELEPHANTS.
upload_2022-1-31_21-8-48.png

Going to build some more of those bad boys...

....friend...no....please don't say it's true....Carthage mustered all of their forces to murder our elephant-bro. They haven't sent a single unit to defend their capital, but they threw their entire army instead against our mostly-peaceful elephant. They will pay with blood!
upload_2022-1-31_21-15-17.png

Greatly angered, our troops renewed their attack with vigor and took Carthage.
upload_2022-1-31_21-17-0.png

My one request - once we finish capturing Carthago, lets rename it something elephant related in memory of our short lived friend. RIP Mr. Elephanto.

Both chariots who participated in murdering our elephant have been summarily executed. They won't be bothering anyone for some time to come.

We have a lot of money. So I queued up another wonder.

And that completes my set. I didn't play many turns, but I feel like a lot happened. Started a war and finished a capital siege. Completed a wonder, started another. Made a best friend and watched him die, then got revenge.
