It appears a Pittsburgh historic church of has burned, and then collapsed. The footage was iconic, to say the least.

For the people who love the Biblical Revelations.

Is this the official crossing over? Have we lost the Curch of Brotherly Love? Has everything William Pitt stood for been demolished? Are we living in Laodecia?

If so, times are about to get very rough for true Christians.

EDIT: I think I meant William PENN.

Neomega, Im afraid only true Christians are going to know what youre talking about. Are you saying that a church burning in Philadelphia is a sign of the Apocalypse?

Did you see the footage? It was very, very sad.

It's just a building?

Unless people were hurt - should I be concerned?

Neomega, can you describe the footage for the benefit of those who are clueless? :)

The Trumpet

Quite unusual.
I'm a pretty shoddy excuse for a christian by any standards, but I thought christians weren't supposed to predict the future?

(I don't know where I got that from :p)

Well the church had two large towers, and it was burning pretty bad, and then one of the towers collapsed, demolition style.

Every religion has it's offshoots and splinters...To enable different activities from the prescribed original...

Christians are a loosely knit term to say the least.

But the most agree the Book of Revelations will hand out hints for the "end times".

There are many things about the Book of Revelations that makes good insight on the Christian right view of the war on Islam to say the least.

For example, the Fact that John Kerry voted for a national ID card will energize the Christian Right greatly. This appears to be a sign of the beast to many. The precursor to 666 tatoos on our foreheads or right hands.

Misguided doomspeakers will look for vindication within any disasters.

A church burnt down...Hardly the precipitation of Armageddon!

Maybe you could see this as symbolic of the dechristianization in the christian world, the crisis christianity is in (and effectively has been in for the last 40 years), although especially in America this doesn't seem to go as fast as in many other countries.

But a sign of the Apocalypse? Only fundamentalistic christian groups might believe in that...

That book is not said to contain the words of christ, surely dangerously flawed not to take it with a pinch of salt?

Please enlighten me

Jesus referred to creating churches as in a group of people, but I don't think he ever referred to a church as being a big building with spires. I ain't a church goer, I am not heavilly influenced by any demonation or interpretation; Jesus is my guide.

If a destruction of church is in someway relevant, I doubt it means a building. Just my take :p

The book has quotes of God, which many believe is Christ, one and the same.

As far as the enlightenment....

Many Christians see the UN as the body of the Anti-Christ. The blue and white flag with a map on it drives fear in their heart. I know, the churches I attended felt that way. It still drives fear in me due to my upbringing.

They believe Israel is God's last stand against Satan, before the "tribulation". Do you ever wonder how Pat Robertson is still so popular?

Why do they think Isreal is the God's last stand?

I remember when the apocolypse was touted as being scheduled for Oct 1992, then rescheduled for 1995.

When someone asks me to tattoo 666 on myself I'll know the jig is up, until then, buisness as usual.

 How on earth do they link the UN to the Anti-Christ? And this must still be a very small minority, otherwise the Republicans would get much more votes I think.

I used to wonder, but then I read about the lead levels in our drinking water.
