Pile of Cobblers, an English EU3 AAR

February 20th, 1622
(I used Age of Empires III, not the d20)

The Battle in the Isles calmed down somewhat, the Republican forces deciding that they didn't yet have the forces to invade England and the Royalists still had to maneuver some of their forces in hopes of attacking again, however in the British section of the middle east the war was nearly as hot as the weather.

Admiral Junglecutter had decided to raid royalist shipping and took six of his warships and ordered them near Cairo, Admiral Nodikus decided to match his forces with 6 of his own ships, sending the rest of them to go and find the rest of the republican navy in hopes of sinking it.

thanks to the experience of the Royalist Navy they quickly sank two of the enemy ships and from then on had a rather large advantage over their traitorous counterparts, The Republicans lost all six ships while the Royalists only lost three

meanwhile on orders from the Governor 5000 troops under the command of General Sparrow marched towards Gaza in hopes of arresting General Swein, they started out by questioning locals and ran into a band of mercenaries who offered to bring them Swein for 3 gold pieces each, General Sparrow accepted and gathered up the troops for the exchange

later reports began reaching Cairo that soldiers claiming to be the remains of Sparrows army returned, when questioned by the Governor it was discovered that the 5000 Royalist troops were surrounded by over 14,000 Republican forces and then massacred, the troops who had reached Cairo only did so themselves by pretending to be dead, the wounded including General Sparrow himself is rumoured to be held within the Republican Millitary base in Gaza

Thats a Rather confused looking sea battle. At least that Republican Scum is getting whats coming to them.
How are you handleing the civil ar? Disbanding Armies and Fleets that get 'destroyed'?

yep... i found the downside to civil wars are that Britain suffers 100% of the casualties

i might even tally it up depending on my mood at the end

@prince, i'll check it out and get back to you

PS: Gah, Spawwow is supposed to tell me this stuff, WHERE IS HE?

Clerk: M'lord, General Sparrow was captured during the battle.

it might be the fact its 3 am, but my brain has failed to register any of that

I shall sleep now for fear of it crashing

I have AOE III, if you need help with screenshots.

Rupublicans and fellow revolutionists,

The English monarch has twisted the truth about what actually happened in my well executed raid. Do not fall victim to his propaganda.

This is what actually happened:

The English fleet is the puny carrack in the middle.

Captain: Wouldn't you agree history is about perspective?
On a personal note(nothing to do w/ AAR) I'm sorry for adding this post if you feel it shouldnt be part of the AAR.:( (I'll kindly remove it if you wish it):)

nah.... I interupt kan's AAR all the time with pictures

any participation lets me know I'm doing a half assed decent job

and yes, history is perspective, Royalist and Republican views may be different, however my news isn't Royalist exactly ;)

I need to come with a pic soon

What year is it, and can we get some pics please :)?

1622 still, and nothing has changed since the begining of the civil war

trying to come up with something to write about, massive writers block

Kan, I present you with a little island in the Indian Ocean

Nice, Governor's Hut.
*Glares at Princescamp*

I neither request nor accept any gift that makes me appear above the common British citizen. While our King sleeps (and he himself admits a lack of inspiration in his campaigns), I will always be fighting for the common man, for they have a power our monarchy cannot understand.

For Britain! For Freedom!

Well, I meant the republic... and speaking of the republic, this painting was done by a local artist in Africa it's title is "That Was Easy"

We see the Republic donning the blue of Scotland and overtaking the redcoats with soldiers local supporters and swordsmen.

Except with a lot mroe troops.

Meh, I didn't lose that battle, sure, in retrospect I should have sent more troops, but Sparrow was in command.
