Pitboss network traffic?

I've got pitboss suspected for generating a lot of network traffic. I've got this ol' laptop, dedicated for pitboss. Its running windows xp with every service possible disabled - I want it to enter "low power mode" when not in use.

When pitboss is not started, it generates no network traffic what so ever. Once a day, the harddisk spins up, when the dyndns.org client verifies the ip address - very fine...

When pitboss is started, it generates constant traffic, even if no players are connected.

Have you experienced likewise?

Any tips on confirming that its actually pitboss that causes the traffic?

Any tips on reducing the ammount of traffic?
