Just posting here to say that I love this mod.
 
I downloaded the mod a few days ago and Id say Ive spend around 12 hours in total playing it.

My impressions:

  • I cannot build planet busters?
  • Id wish there was just a few more units?
  • No economic victory?
Also, im in doubt how the Nanoreplicator works. It says that it becomes "incorporated". When you build it you cannot se how much the actual output will be. This is true for several of the "coorporations" that require some kind of resource to work.
The computer keep recommending me to build it, so I did.

Id also wish there was a bit more units to choose from. Except for the native ones its pretty much just an upgrade of the normal unit, the flame unit and the tank unit all the way.

One last thing, you get a leviathan, a total badass with 30 strengh, could you not have chosen a better model than a scout rover? Kind of an anti climax in late game.

But overall the mod I really good, I enjoyed it.

When will the next update be?
Is the mod closing soon as CIV V will come out?

You're missing the cavalry equivalent (i.e. fast units, the rover->chopper->rotor->hovertank->gravship line), ditto for the two naval lines (submarines and cruisers). And air units later on. What else do you want?

Don't forget the special abilities (which depend on your buildings and techs a bit), they allow you to give them rather cool stuff, like air defense, ranged attacks, healing, etc. That's pretty much a mix-'n-match system if you want more specialised units (some of them even have their own graphics).

If you have missed them, re-examine the tech tree again... it's a bit different from vanilla Civ4, you can accidentally skip many of the cheaper ones (there are no AND requirements, but many OR requirements), hence the appearance of very limited choices, unit-wise.

And for the Planet Buster, did you a) have the Supercollider, b) the required resource (IIRC, it was Helium-3) and c) were nukes allowed by the planetary council?

I seem to recall I did add "Actual:" info for "corporations", and that it does work for me. :confused: I'll keep out an eye for it.

A request for a model for that unit is on the tasklist. Alternatively feel free to suggest a model that doesn't require any editing.

When it's ready of course. I'd like to add parts of Afforess' Advanced Diplomacy before releasing a new patch. I don't know when I'll have time to do that.

That depends on many matters like for instance when the Civ5 SDK is released and what Lord Tirian and Pfeffersack plan to do after Civ5 is released.

I'm on my second game of this. Awesome mod; thanks so much, it's clear a ton of work went into it.

My first game I switched to the Drones when they appeared as I was doing quite poorly. When I reloaded the save game, I was back to being Zakharov again. But neither Zakharov nor Domai was in any shape to recover.

My current game is going quite well. I'm playing as Morgan. I love how promotions completely change my units. Is it a tank, an artillery unit or an anti-aircraft battery? *flips three-sided coin*

Domai and his lackeys Lal and Roze are my main enemies. Rather appropriate that it's Morgan versus Domai! If I could just convince Santiago and her cyborg protectorate to join me, we'd be an awesome threesome. Santiago would instantly outflank Lal, we'd destroy him and finally bring the war to Drone territory.

I don't think I mentioned yet how neat the bunkers are. I remember in SMAC my silly formers would build them all over and they didn't really help... in Planetfall they make combat a lot more interesting. I wish I'd built more of them before PW I (Planet War One) started!

Also, something that probably matters is the amount of feedback. It's no fun to work on a mod that nobody download, plays or gives (balance) feedback on. If people post here and discuss the mod (and make sure to drop by in the Planetfall subforum), it's probably helping as well! ;)

That's a known bug - something that apparently helps is immediately reloading again (from the in-game menu, instead of going into the main menu first).

you are also right that there are more units.

As for the Nanoreplicator, what I mean is that when you want to build it, it has no "Actual +XX"
But if you go to the mineral breakdown of the base it does show up.

That's probably because its a so-called corporation (in BtS terms). I've never seen the "Actual" line with these kind of buildings.
 
I spend some six hours playing a game as the Gaians and going to Trancendance victory.

The flower counter is now at 90+, but the suggestion has not come up to let everyone swich to that civic.

The description in the datalinks is rather vague

"When the counter reaches 100 you win if you have Planet +1 or more"

What if more people have +1 or more? does the highest one win then?

I voted to increase flower levels time and again (easy since i puppeted half of the AIs).

and oh yeaH... native units are some Nasty mother*****s
 
Eventually the flower counter was bumbed up to 105. And my puppet state Miriam wins?!!!

She had +1.5 eco, had plus 14?

Is it the one who is the closest to +1 that wins? Seems strange?

AFAIK, everybody with the Transcendence civic should win (everybody with that civic should automatically form a permanent alliance with each other).

Have you adopted the Transcendence civic? If yes, you should've won as well, if no... that's strange (and you might want to post a savegame for Maniac to inspect).

The Bink videos do not work at all! And I placed them EXACTLY where they shuld go. The costum qwote sounds work but not the bink movies! :confused:Whats up with this? I have the latest this and that, ya de ya de yada! Help?:king:

Screenshot of your folder (showing path and the .bik-files), please? Sometimes it's easy to overlook rather minor stuff, so a second pair of eyes may help! ;)

Also, have you turned off wonder movies in the regular Civ4 game? As most mods, Planetfall copies over most of the options settings... so that might be it.

I have the "No Movies" turned off in Civ 4 base game and in Civ 4 Planet Fall mod. So weird. Well I dont know how to screen capture my PC, ill just screen capture it with words. Her are the dictionary paths of the bink files.
