Okay...so there is more information coming? Like what we have with us and stuff like that?

And Perfection, if you win, I'll call you "Cheeze-Zilla".

Rules:
I post the situation. From my posting, you all have 24 hours to debate the solution you want. During this time, you shall all vote by sending me PM’s. Also, you shall all vote for the ONE person you want to get rid of. In the end…there can be only one, the Pope (it is my game, and the title is pope and nothing else!)

To ensure you are not voted out, anything goes. PM each other, make and break alliances, whatever.

Scenario one.

As you may recall, you were all standing around this broken down bus in the middle of Sahara. You had two days worth of water, no communication with the rest of the world, the driver had deserted you (having previously served in the Republican Guard, he had a nack for that) and life looked kinda bleak. Other gear is normal clothes, and whatever bits and pieces you can get off the bus. The driver left behind a pair of sunglasses (the only ones you have) and a badly used copy of “Hot Girls and Camels” magazine. Hopefully, the only one you got.

Just before the bus, and your cell phones broke down, there was a terrible storm, and you could all hear faint thunder.

There is an oasis about one day away, hiking across the dunes. You will spend all your water doing this trip. Hopefully you will find water at the oasis, or you’re all toast. As far as you know, nobody knows your location. Any search for you is still days away.

So dilemma one; what is your first move? Stay and wait? Head for the oasis? Split the team up, some staying at the bus, some heading for the oasis?

Let the games begin…..

I'll go find that oasis but, for security reasons, I'd better take the girly mag with me. You lot would only fight over it in my absence and at this point morale is crucial I feel.

Maybe I should start.

Q1. Stay or go.

We have 2 days worth of water. The search is "days away"

The answer is clearly, go.

Q2. All or some?

Even if we find water at the oasis, any left behind will be likely to perish before either those sent return or the search, if any, finds the bus. Besides, some are stronger than others and we will all stand a better chance together.

Q3. How do we find the oasis? Isn't this a risk?

Yes. It is. However, I assume we have our watches and some basic knowledge of where we are relative to the oasis. We should be able to navigate.

Q4. Travel by day or night?

Good one. It depends whether or not anyone else can navigate by the stars (I can't). So, if we choose to go by night then we need to make ourselves some form of shelter for the daytime. In fact, some form of sun protection would be useful. Remember also that the desert can get cold at night so we need to remember to keep warm as well as keep cool.

Q5. Who gets the sunglasses?

Me, of course, because I would look quite cool in them and besides it would inly be polite to give them to the lady.

Q6. What about the magazine?

Badly used? Some of you guys have been spending too much time with "Hot Girls and Camels" and you may be eyesight impaired. Maybe one of you should be left behind with his fantasies.

Important rules!

Forgot to post this.

1. Anyone NOT sending me a PM within 25 hours of my post, will be kicked out. (otherwise this thing could go on 4-ever)

2. Once a PM has been sent, you cannot change your mind. A vote is a vote.

All or some?

Well, we can only move as fast as the slowest and weakest member of the group if we all go. I say leave the weakest behind and divide the water. The toughest can then move faster towards the oasis and bring back water for the weak (if we have sufficient containers - strip out the petrol tank and fashion some sort of sled from other parts of the van maybe?). Those that stay behind will use less water anyway as they are not exerting themselves - if we all go the total supply will be depleted faster and for less "gain" in terms of water conserved and distance covered. This should give greater margin for error to those searching for the oasis.

The petrol containers will be contaminated.

Also, if we are carrying more water back we will consume more proportionately and thus return less water to the others.

If there is anyone who is subsantially weaker then there is merit in leaving them behind. I think that was my point about the visually challenged males:)

{Question - I am not around at weekends. I assume this game continues only on weekdays?}

First you skip Iraq...now the weekends?;)

OK, The Saturday - Sunday is off limits. Please post, but I will not count the hours during days "off".

Cheers

"The petrol containers will be contaminated"

Wrong - petrol will evaporate in the sun and the containers can be cleaned of ant remaining crap at the oasis. Besides, when desperate for water you would risk any (fairly minor) level of contaminants just to get the fluids into you. If not petrol tank then some other component/container - vehicles are full of fluids so there's bound to be something that can be used.

If you leave the weaker ones behind then you have to give them some hope by promising to come back, otherwise you have a mutiny on your hands from the start and that wont help a group pull together will it? Plus, dragging water by sled means you can carry a lot with little effort

If you cant be arsed to help the poor saps, fair enough, but if you get out alive you've still got to live with yourself afterwards ;)
