Hey! Wait! Stop the presses! On the main Civ Fanatics page it has the close-up of the "other special unit" and it says, "Probably Vikings". However, it is obviously the Conquistador when one looks at the helmet of the rider, and the image with the Conquistador in English territory. Looking, one notices the dog alongside the rider in both pictures. No Viking special unit, just the Conquistador.

yeah, screenshot 7 is a pic of the conquistador. the viking uu is the guy with the big axe standing outside bergen.

I almost hoped they could update the landscape to Alpha Centauri style when the landscape had Height and deep! And the ability to make the land higher & lower!

Well I hope I get that in Civilization 4... but that will be a looooong wait!

Check out the buttons above the Unit Box. The unit shows 5.3.2/3. Charge allowed?

Its probably just moved 1/3 of its movment for the turn.

With the qonquistador(5.3.2), the spanish will be invincible, especially if you play world or Europe map, because of the geographical position

It could be the carthnegenian (sp?) Special unit, Ancient Greece and Carthage were pretty closely related...

AND, It would fit with things as it seems firaxis has only let out info on half the new civs.

No one pointed it out yet, but not only the radar tower shows up on that particular screenshot.

There are also 5 airbases on it. Given how much people have been yelling for that one, I thought they'd at least have been slightly noticed

Hmm, the snow-covered terrain looks pretty nice, but when they said two new terrain sets, I thought they meant "new", not just the same ole' terrain covered in snow.......


So, the Spanish, Carthaginians, Vikings, and Mongols are in........with four still to come. Very nice.


The new UU's look simply delicious. And that screenshot of the primitive cannon-like unit is VERY interesting......


I can't wait.

It is barely readable, but judging from what some Viking towns are building, the name of the special Viking unit might be "Bezerk".
