IMO the Mongol UU should have upped speed and maybe offense also and put down the defense.

From Knight (4,3,2) to 5,2,3. That maybe a bit powerful, though.

I wonder what the "Keshik" replaces. 4/2/2? The closest unit with that A/D/M that I can think of is the knight, but it's 4/3/2. Maybe it's just a weird bug. And yes, it does look stupid.

The Mongols should have the Rider instead of the Chinese. The Chinese could have the Junk instead, maybe like a caravel replacement with carry capacity of 4 instead of 3 and an A/D/M of like 2/2/3 or something.

I expected the conquistador to replace explorers and require saltpeter and iron with an A/D/M of like 3/3/2 and cost more shields than a normal explorer. But they turned out as some knight guy carrying a spear with a dog beside him. That's pretty sad.

And that Viking UU, it has a frickin' huge axe! I wish they could have included the info box so we could see what it's called and its A/D/M.

1. Mongols: Mongol usual weapon was longbow and spear. Mongols not used to sabres early. Conquered Turkic tribes usually apply sabres (they invented it). Conclude: Realistically Nuker rider with longbow.

2. Chinese: with increased capacity of own vessels they early colonized Americas. May be need War Jonk replacement of Caravel with DECREASED features?
Edit: Spanyards: Conquistador - You a'right! Real conquistadors are product of gunpowder era.
3. Vikings: Maybe Guy-with-axe (berserker?) is replacement of Swordsmen?

The Koreans are in!

Go to http://www.us.infogrames.com/e3/index.php and navigate to Civ3: Play the World.

Download the Screenshots. You'll see that the mystery picture of the rocket firing wheel barrow thingy is called a "hwacha".

A quick Internet search later, I found that hwacha = "fire cartwheel", a Korean artillery piece used in the 1400's.

I am willing to bet that the Keshik (4/2/2) replaces the longbow man (4/1/1). The question is whether they will still cost horses or not...

I wished there were more ship UU's. I know the Koreans had this one covered ship (forget the name - it's in AOE2). It'd be nice if the Vikings had their longboats there.

The longboats could've been "Improved gallies" with 1 extra movement (4 movement, 5 with the GL).

That sounds plausible, but they would become available AFTER Knights, or at least at the same time. Of course, they could always be super cheap so that Genghis could simply overwhelm your defenses...

Keep the links coming guys :goodjob:

you can see a "basket" with arrows if you look closer at the mongol uu. so maybe it replaces the longbow man like galitus said.

ouch, ghengis looks even worse than genghisk.;)

So we have figured out 6 of the 8 new civs?

1)Mongols
2)Carthage
3)Spain
4)Norse
5)Korea
6)Celts

Do we know of any others? I suspect Maya or Inca will be included, and Turks or Arabs.

Eight new Civilizations: Represented in four eras, each Civilization features new units for even more strategic depth
acient:
carthagians and celts

medieval:
spanish, viking, mongols and koreans

this must mean that is one industrial era civ and one modern era civ.

I wanted to mention this earlier, but what about choosing a color for your civ, rather than using the assigned game color?

COLOR
COLOR

It could be the carthnegenian (sp?) Special unit, Ancient Greece and Carthage were pretty closely related...

AND, It would fit with things as it seems firaxis has only let out info on half the new civs.

According to the download from E3 C3PTW Link , it's a Hwacha
